This is a double edged sword. The GOP is very likely to take the three branches in the 2024 November elections by majority.
Johnson should make it very clear to the democrats/Rinos this can be used in exactly this fashion.
There will be no more Eric Holder’s going free. The House is going to subpoena or find in contempt of Congress as they run or sit for inquiries.
Johnson will remind them that he would like to see a bipartisan effort to bring this change up on the floor, and dropped since it likely Bannon will be a part of Trumps Administration. An olive branch of sorts.
Make the point that Trump has already put the sword to Ukraine for their role in his impeachment(s). Trump has shown a capacity to play hardball having been taught well by your best efforts.
If Johnson cannot get this dropped by the house or rescinded or simply charged with jail time, it would help to ease the hostile divide between the two parties.
Barring a positive result for Bannon, this is the moment that they have thrown down the gunlet and Trump is going to pick it up and use it against them.
