Right now, MSNBC and CNN post-debate panels are openly talking about options for pressuring Biden to withdraw, or party officials conspiring to replace him at the convention anyway.
I truly believe that convention drama is usually energizing for a party, not demoralizing. And the selection between Kamala Harris and Gavin Newsom would allow Democrats to feel like the party of the future again, rather than a party litigating a recent past that voters hated.
If Biden’s bad performance really does lead to his departure from the race, Republicans will miss him.

There’s always a fear of things we can’t control.
Trump has to keep campaigning. He can control that and he keeps hammering his winning issues. I’m sure he’ll get a bit of a bump and if Biden really is removed some how, some way, we’ll probably know by Monday.
The Democrats can’t just oh, Biden is unfit, our bad, here’s our swap out and it just be without huge fallout. Alot of people look like liars and the Biden baggage doesn’t just go away. I expect the border BS to get more crazy if people coming in think they only got 6 months or so left to get in.
I am so sorry I won’t be able to listen to Rush Limbaugh review the debate from 12:00-3:00 today.
[The Democrats will make a deal with Jill and she will have the delegates released.
This debate was a pyrrhic victory for Trump]
Biden isn't called POTATUS for nothing.
Many states are voting in September.

An embarrassingly stupid sector of the population.
It’s going to be newsome or Hillary. Doomsday either way.
I am guessing that the audio of Hur’s interview with Biden reveals the same demented Joe (if it still exists). If so, the so-called “transcript” would be fraudulent, and could lead to Garland losing his job. They would surely redouble their wagon-circling to protect Garland.
Nobody can afford a house.

Yes. I am positioning myself so I can assist my two responsible employed children, who, by the way, have not asked for assistance, to buy houses. Otherwise, I don’t see how it happens for them. First, I wanted them to get through college without debt, which, by the grace of God and a smart grandmother who put 10K in the market for each of them at birth which grew over 18 years to enough for them to attend a reasonable state school, they graduated and got jobs. Now it is up to me to put money in a 529 for my grand child to grow in the same way, then help my children buy houses if I can. Even if it means working into my 80s.
Yes. As I posted before, if the audio from the Hur-Biden interview reveals the same demented Biden as the debate, the so-called "transcript" would be a fraud. They will probably claim that it was accidentally deleted.
“...but I think the Democrats can only improve their chances by unloading Biden.”
That will be the spin.
Trump will still own the major campaign issues — immigration, migrant crime, inflation, wars and rumors of wars, hollowed-out military, etc.
“too much”?
Impossible!
Biden now has a record, and an incumbent running for reelection becomes a referrendum on that incumbent. Replace Biden with a new Rat face, and that dynamic changes considerably. The new face would be free to criticize Biden’s record, make promises he/she doesn’t intend to keep, etc. The smart move was to wait until the Rats renominated Biden formally. Biden’s coherence will not improve in September. It can only get worse.
I’ve been saying for weeks now that Trump had to be careful. Not appear to be a class bully picking on the Special Ed kid.
And Trump did his job perfectly. He let the retarded kid do all the self inflicted damage.
We learned that Biden has a 6 handicap in golf, maybe 8. And that his brain has been eaten by cannibals.
I think it will depend on whether obama and clinton have already settled on the replacement or is there going to be a lot of infighting.
That, plus the fact that he’s only on the ballot in 18 states.
“So the country is best off with the Democratic candidate who is most likely to lose. My sense is that Biden is that candidate.”
I get what you’re saying here and it’s a valid point. Right now, if Biden is replaced by... say... Gavin or some other rabid Democrat, our chances of winning back the presidency are slim and none. Except for the fact that last nite’s “debate” woke a helluva lot of people up to reality, as proven by how deeply the left has been thrown into panic mode. It’s possible that the newly awakened voters will now see Trump as the ‘only’ viable candidate and vote accordingly, no matter who the left throws at them in November. Hope springs.
It’s no time for complacency or premature victory dances.
