The former head of US intelligence slammed the celebrations surrounding the release of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange this week and called the Australian 'no hero.'

Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today show, James Clapper, who served as head of the intelligence community under former President Barack Obama, called Assange's actions wrong and illegal.

Clapper went on to say that US assets in Afghanistan were likely killed due to Wikileaks revealing their identities in government documents.

Clapper has been responsible for a whole lot more death and destruction, including our country, than Assange.

Good question… Assange reveals truth… a thorn in the side of Clapper and his bunch. Still waiting, “Who is responsible for the murder of Seth Rich?”

[The DOJ had no business prosecuting Assange. He’s not a U.S. citizen and didn’t commit any alleged crimes in the U.S.]

By your reasoning, someone who steals property from an American abroad can’t be prosecuted. That’s not how it works
This guy merely attempted to steal - he got 20 years:

[So if Assange publishing these leaks was so damaging Jim, why did your boss Obama Pardon Chelsey Manning for leaking them? Dude decides to identity as a gal and then all is forgiven?]

Because giving America’s enemies a break is what they do. Democrats have been trying to close Guantanamo for decades.

I wish someone would start quoting the Supreme Court case: the New York Times vs the United States. It would blow much of the smoke off the stage. Clapper is full of it.

I understand why our govt will lie to us. I don't like it, but I understand. But for the govt to use the courts to demand compliance is abhorrent.

We are speaking of the CIA. It is not a reliable partner of the United States, and should not be considered an ally.

Asange and Snowden both leaked extremely sensitive data the Government didn’t want leaked to its enemies.

I believe that is true.

Now, who are those enemies? Eh, looks to be the American people mostly.

Well, it’s certainly not terrorists of any sort, those guys get a free pass and a cell phone. Fly right under the radar.

What else to think:
Everyone is deployed on J6. Boston Marathon is overlooked (they had the warnings).

They “miss” stuff that hurts us, and catch stuff that hurts us, and make up stuff that hurts us... what’s the common thread?

So if I am mugged in Paris, my assailant is subject to prosecution under U.S. law?

It's like you or me eating pork in Peoria during Ramadan. Neither of us should have to worry about being extradited to Iran in order to answer for our "crimes."

Assers died in Afghanistan because obama/biden deserted them and sided with the Taliban.

These things are subject to resource constraints, but serious offenses are prosecuted and extraditions sought. One example is Klinghoffer’s murderer, who was detained in post-Saddam Iraq, but croaked before the procedural hurdles could be surmounted.

Assange was prosecuted for revealing the truth about government shenanigans. As a journalist, he refused to give up his sources. He exposed how pervasive and intrusive the Deep State is.

“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” 1984 George Orwell. He tried to warn us. We did not listen!

I wonder if any “assets” died because of the incompetence of the biden administration in abandoning Afghanistan the way they did???

The Klinghoffer case doesn’t fall under any conventional legal standards. As the crime took place in international waters outside the jurisdiction of any nation, it was the legal equivalent of piracy — and anyone who dealt with it (especially the U.S.) would have a wide degree of latitude.

The guy who killed Kiki Camarena in Mexico is being extradited. Cyber thieves are being extradited.
