Joe Biden's new student-loan repayment plan just got dealt two blows by federal courts.
On Monday, judges in Kansas and Missouri district courts handed down their rulings on two separate lawsuits filed by GOP state attorneys general seeking to block the SAVE income-driven repayment plan, introduced last summer to lower borrowers' monthly payments.
Earlier this year, the Education Department started implementing a SAVE provision ahead of schedule that canceled student debt for borrowers with original balances of $12,000 or less who made as few as 10 years of qualifying payments. The attorneys general argued that relief was unconstitutional, among other things, and requested the relief — and the plan overall — be blocked.
The Missouri court ruled on one of the lawsuits led by Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey that the Education Department can no longer carry out student-loan forgiveness via SAVE as the legal process continues.

The problem is Biden was defying the courts and $100s of millions in loans were already forgiven. Unless Biden the dictator defies the courts again this should be the end of it.
But will it undo the giveaways? If so, that would be good, and it would also upset a lot of potential Biden voters if they lost their loan forgiveness.
SCOTUS has declared them to be illegal...but The Big Guy has proudly boasted that he won’t obey the order. What makes us think that he’ll obey these orders?
What debt ridden son have a degree in that I need to pay for?
Both ABC World News Tonight with David Muir and CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell didn’t cover this story on June 24, 2024. Maybe they don’t like these 2 federal judges.
My grandaughter worked her way through her bachelors degree at Northern Arizona University. She paid her own way throughout, working two jobs; she acquired her Bachelors degree after only three years, graduating Magna Cum Laude, with zero debt.
She then went on to the University of Montana where she completed her Masters Degree in only 18 months while working three jobs to pay her way, again graduating Magna Cum Laude.
She starts her Doctorate program this fall. She has been hired as an adjunct professor, is participating in two seperate research projects, and also works at a local charity part time, all to pay her own way. She will acquire her PhD and have zero debt.
Other than minor assistance from my wife and I, she received no help from anyone else.
I fail to understand why I should be responsible for anyone who fails to plan properly and pay their own debts.
This is a brilliant idea. Mr. Trump should run with it.
Then reparations for those who’ve paid.🥇
These loans are simply unsustainable, they’re the size of mortgages in many cases.
Before people blame the kids, you have to remember that they’re borrowing additional money to cover rent, food, and even buy a car. When i got my student aid, the first thing i did was get an apartment. That’s the thing that people don’t see, student aid is not just limited to tuition and books.
A little bit of sanity in an insane world?
I’m confused; I thought with Biden snubbing his nose at SCOTUS that he released some money for payments. These comments I’m reading make no mention of that. Has money been given away or is the left trying to gaslight us?
What you mean "we", Paleface?
Biden should be arrested for stealing public funds in order to buy votes to rig an election.
How does the one who paid all her loans think about her sibling getting off scot-free? It’s a matter of choices, really. School, degree and the jobs that go with.
“if we are giving illegals free college, I think we can forgive loans to real Americans who have attempted to pay and are good citizens otherwise.....”
1. Giving illegals free college needs to stop now!
2. Forgiving Americans’ college loans is stealing from ME — a taxpayer. I couldn’t afford college, why should I pay for other people’s kids’ debts?
and for those that paid them off give a reduced income tax rate of some percentage for the next 10 years. That should offer people who did the right thing some relief from feeling they were stabbed in the back.
>Bail out student loans with corresponding cuts in other departments, and close the Education Department down.<
Excellent. Tax the universities’ endowments as personal income, 40%. That should help defray some of the cost too.
EC
Meanies.
So where are the students / parents benefiting from this with actual documents showing a zero balance?
Otherwise this is another Biden lie invalidated by the MSM who should be parading proof.
What?? You don't want to forgive their degree in underwater basket weaving?
