Imagine, for a moment, that the Iranian government announces it has developed a nuclear bomb and threatens to use it on Israel. The United States reacts with the threat of military intervention, as it did in 1991 and 2003 in Iraq. Iran signals that it will not tolerate a third Gulf war and looks for allies. American forces mass to enter Iran, which orders national mobilisation. Russia, China and North Korea express their support for Iran, and Washington expands its intervention force, bringing in a British contingent. Russia enters the game, raising the stakes in the expectation that the West will back down. A nuclear standoff follows, but with tense and itchy fingers on both sides, as leaders gamble on the risk of not striking first, it all ends in disaster. The Third World War begins with an exchange of nuclear fire, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Or picture this: Chinese frustration over the status of Taiwan prompts a build-up of invasion forces. The United States is preoccupied with its own domestic political crisis. Japan anxiously watches the exchange of harsh words between China and Taiwan, wondering whether to intervene. The United Nations condemns Chinese actions, and China repudiates the censure and orders invasion, confident that a quick victory will prevent others from intervening, as Hitler hoped when he invaded Poland in 1939. The United States now activates contingency plans to save Taiwan, and each side uses tactical nuclear weapons against the other’s armed forces. North Korea and Russia side with China. There is no general nuclear strike, but Russia warns Europe to keep out, dividing American strategy between the two theatres, as it was in the Second World War. The conflict continues to escalate.
Now let’s...

You can thank John Kerry and 0bama for that.
Heck I don’t know, I’ll defer to the prophet Ezekiel.

“American forces mass to enter Iran, which orders national mobilisation.”
Stop right there. Already baseless fantasy. This administration is not going to mobilize against Iran. But even if they wanted to pretend to, what forces would they use, how long would it take, and where would they “mass”?
If they are going to make up a hypothetical, give it more credibility than by starting off, “Once upon a time....”
You beat me to it!
LOL. That one line jumped right out at me as I read the article. I didn’t even bother reading the rest of it.
WWIII will be in a few decades IMO. The last part of this century most likely. Most of the world will be dead after the seven-year event which will terminate at Armageddon upon Christ’s return.
My first reaction, as well. I used to think there was some rhyme or reason to our foreign policy in the region when we had occupying firces in both Iraq and Afghanistan...either side of Iran. . I guess Obama put a stop to that, in a seemingly incompetent manner.
Not prophesied.
“Imagine if...”
MIC erogenous sexual fantasy article.
Did Lindsay, or Bolton write this crap?
NEEEEEXXT!!
This feels like I’m watching the most complicated game ever played.
The fog of war is as thick as ever. The entirety of the situation incomprehensible by humans. Yet it is moving with deadly precision and never seems to make a mistake. Adapts to whatever conditions currently exist. This would ordinarily require massive human resources to process. Yet we are led by pants crapping morons. Other countries’ leadership is not much better.
Who is orchestrating all this?
Why would China enter into a war with its best customer - US?
Such doom porn. It is being posted all over the internet. I hope the writer gets a piece of the “click” revenue.
Not too late. When the uncivilized Religion of Peace is eliminated, there can be goodwill toward the civilized and peace on earth.
Anyone who can read a map knows the US is not going to invade Iran. Anyway, with just a little support the people of Iran will take care of business.
I hope as you said that it is for entertainment purposes only. However for some reason it reminds me of the Ezekiel Option as described and written by Joel C. Rosenberg. But with enough clueless individuals in our government it would not surprise me.
This proves the author isn't serious. It took nearly 8 months for the USA to mobilize to invade a weakened Iraq, from the time Bush officially declared it as policy. And that's when the USA was completely uncontested, wasn't bloated by debt, or enfeebled by globohomo and wokeism.
Its impossible to repeat that against Iran.
If it’s too late... Then fire away.
A first strike makes sense... Eliminate your enemy before they eliminate you. Strategic targeting could eliminate the ability of Russia, NK and China in a matter of minutes. The west likely has people in each of these regimes with insider knowledge of leadership locations... Blast them now.
Putin has a lot of doubles, so a full onslaught on Russia makes the best sense. The Chinese and North Korean Commies will likely only require a couple of precision hits.
Then a full occupation by troops from NATO for decades to come, with the introduction of Democratic values and a peaceful existence should transpire much like it did in Germany and Japan.
Then explain to the middle east that unless they find a way to accept Israel, that they will face the same fate... And viola... Middle Eastern problems solved.
Pease is attainable.
“Imagine, for a moment, that the Iranian government announces it has developed a nuclear bomb and threatens to use it on Israel.”
Then imagine, for the next moment, that Israel shoots down whatever Iran sends its way, then rains down nukes on Iran like piss from an overwatered bull, obliterates Iran’s oil & gas infrastucture, and leaves Iran as a smoldering neolithic hell, to the cheers of a grateful Middle East.
WWIII? Not needed unless the US somehow blocks Israel from getting the job done quickly. Russians, Chinese, and Norks will squawk much, do diddly.
