President Biden is the frontrunner in a hypothetical matchup against former President Trump for the first time since October, as positive views of the economy inch up — hitting their highest level thus far in the Biden presidency, according to a new Fox News national survey.
Since May, there was a 3-point change in the presidential race. Trump was ahead by 1 point last month, while Biden is up by 2 points today: 50%-48%. That’s well within the margin of error.
Beyond improved evaluations of the economy, a range of other events since the May survey could influence small shifts in vote preference, including Trump’s hush money conviction, Hunter Biden’s gun trial conviction, a positive U.S. jobs report and Biden’s immigration executive order.
Biden’s current 50% support is his best this election cycle; he hasn’t been ahead of Trump since October 2023 and that was by just 1 point (49%-48%).
There was also a 4-point shift in the expanded ballot. When other potential candidates are included, Biden tops Trump by 1 point (43%-42%), Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. receives 10% and Cornel West and Jill Stein get 2% each. Last month, Trump was ahead of Biden by 3 points (43%-40%).

Also, California, NY , MA and IL for instance can have 65% for Dems and “flyover states” can have a 2% Trump margin.
Dems have to be far ahead every time to win the non sure thing always Dem states plus all the others for 270 electoral votes.

That was particularly satisfying to see=- it is said she was so furious she threw a bottle of champagne through the TV monitor she was watching at the time- that story came out soon after the election
I would add the abortion industry has a lot of support in this country. Hence, why Trump backed off the Roe v Wade success that has led to more abortion in this country.

Based on its past history, I base NOTHING on any FOX Poll.
That is a truism I have followed through many years of their
bad polling - and to this day I can’t tell if they have untrustworthy results because of poor methodology or they want to show they’re really NOT for Conservative RePubs to maintain a facade of “impartiality” or BOTH...
And I’m talking about decently close to reality polling - not contrived for ANY kind of reason (or merely wrong methods)...

Exactly. One data point does not make a trend.
I would love to look at the internals and the “verbatims” on these polls. Those are the comments that people make on the open ended questions. They are often recorded verbatim and included in the appendix of many polls. You use these to see if your “message” is being received because you will “see it” repeated back to you.
While not applicable to this poll, I bet the dems are looking for the phrase “cheap fake” and “convicted felon” which are the key phrases they’ve been using over the past two weeks. The republicans would be looking for “demented” or some sort of mentally challenged phrasing.
The pollsters and marketers use these textual responses to “develop” their talking points and then it becomes a feedback loop.
Polling is interesting to learn about. Manipulating the minds that can be swayed is as old as politics themselves. More often than not, the poll questions are so biased you won’t get a reasonable answer. And these days, getting people to answer polls must be a real challenge.
