"COST $250 Billion"?
It wouldn't 'cost' a damn thing!
These people are economic morons...............

At separate times, DJT has called for elimination of payroll taxes (2020 campaign), and more recently income taxes (by way of tariffs, in a republican meeting) and tip taxes.
Looking at each of these, is looking at the trees.
The forest, however, spells NESARA. The National Economic Security and Recovery Act. Calls for a national sales tax, solely on new items, abolishes the FED/IRS, moves to a PM-based financial system.

They shouldn’t be taxed and they shouldn’t be split among others. Good service usually equates to good tips. At least it did in the old days.
To: Red Badger
It goes right back into the economy instead of being wasted by the governments trough.
To: Red Badger
Of course, they mean that the income taxes on tips would be $250 billion. Now most people getting tips are probably in the low tax brackets, say, about the 10% bracket. So this means that there are $2.5 trillion dollars in tips not being taxed. If we spread this out over 500 years, we get about $5 billion in taxed tips per year, which is probably in the ballpark.
How do we know this analysis is phony? Well, it looks ahead about 500 years so as to amass such shocking numbers. In other words, it is all bullsqueeze.

Exactly. After he let Fauci destroy these people’s lives, Trump owes them big.

Not taking in taxes is not a “cost”. Your concern is noted by the Republic is not a few tip dollars away from solvency. I’d rather the tips stay with a waitress who is trying to make rent that Zelensky (which is where this ultimately will go)
To: Red Badger
I figure that the people making the biggest stink about this have never had to work for tips in their lives. Maybe never actually worked in their lives.

But it's unclear whether the election-year talking point will materialize as a serious policy plan on Capitol Hill. Several influential Republicans told NBC News they're skeptical of the idea... Influential? But the goons and thugs of NBC 'news' won't say who they are? Gimme a break.
NBC's a bunch of Trump haters... and any 'influential republicans' they speak of are only 'influential' with NBC and MSNBC.
If these fake 'journalists' can't get their fakes to go on the record they should skip the story. Do we really care what the hell George Conway thinks about any thing?
NBC - worse than CNN.

The reason they call tax cuts “costs” is that they truly believe 100% of everything belongs to the government. They merely let people keep some of their money at a “cost” of course.

Tips are gifts.
Gifts, according to the IRS are not taxable unless they exceed $18,000. So if I give a waiter tips of under $18,000 for 2024, gift and not taxable.
But this simple concept seems to drive democrats barking mad.

No they are rat propagandists.

Reality...The tip money would go right back into the economy...where the Feds wouldn't get their cut...which they waste anyways.
In other words...local governments would benefit as well as the good people in this service industry.
To: Red Badger
Exactly. Even if it did “cost “ 250 billion thats one silly welfare program.
Gee, youd think they could find 250 billion in money they don’t need to spend.
Like in Ukraine?
