Trump simply can’t pick any of the Florida guys. It’d simply make no sense for him to declare himself a New Yorker again, considering everything that went down between himself and the NY courts. And it’s very strong possibility of another close election in which a GOP electoral college majority can’t be obtained without Florida. We can’t risk a majority-Dem senate instilling one of their own as Trump’s VP
Well the Constitution never stopped the Libs, look at the Second Admendment
RFK Jr.’s father moved and so did Hillary Clinton. Both were to get political advantage for other offices.
The father RFK:
“After his brother’s assassination, he remained in office during the presidency of Lyndon B. Johnson for several months. He left to run for the U.S. Senate from New York in 1964 and defeated Republican incumbent Kenneth Keating, overcoming criticism that he was a “carpetbagger” from Massachusetts.”
Hillary Clinton:
“Clinton and her husband, President Bill Clinton, purchased a house in Chappaqua, New York, in September 1999; she thereby became eligible for the election, although she faced accusations of carpetbagging since she had never resided in the state before.”
Stories of DeSantis or Rubio moving out of Florida (maybe like Jed Clampett with the truck holding everything, setting up a trailer with a mailbox and maybe a hound dog in another state far from Florida), have been around for a while.
Dems would like Trump to be living in a “big house” by then.
Donald is living here in NJ for the summer (in Bedminster.) Would love it if he registered here!
Trump can relocate to Nevada for the rest of the year and stay in his suite at the Trump hotel. He needs Nevada and being a resident would help.
“We can’t risk a majority-Dem senate instilling one of their own as Trump’s VP”
Yep. there’s a fairly good chance the Senate might be a 50-50 split.
Guys, do we really WANT Rubio? I seem to recall him being a snake in the grass.
So, if that’s true, and we see the dems willing to allow him to run, or make some concession to allow it, we’ll know the fix is in.

Neither one of them is going to move as they would have to give up their day job to do so.
The GOP is currently a bet $3 to win $1 favorite to take the Senate leaving the chances of it landing 50/50 fairly low.
The Dems have over twice as many seats to defend.
Plenty of them are vulnerable.
Trump needs to be looking for someone from a blue state. You will not like the options there.
Chris Sununu of NH who is not running for re-election.
Paul LePage of Maine, whoops he is now a Florida resident
Charlie Baker of Massachusetts
There really are no good options.
What is this obsession with two people living in the same state. I’ve moved six times in my career. BFD. Trump can move to any of his properties outside FL.
Everything went down in New York precisely because he is a New Yorker.

NYP: One top surrogate already said a plan is in place for Rubio to resign his seat and relocate to Maryland if Trump picks him — but the situation is viewed as less than ideal.
And NJ is the state that is looking to cancel Trump’s liquor licenses and all the rest. Donald Trump is not going to move his legal residence to NJ where he would no doubt be subject to yet another phony prosecution. If anyone is going to move right now it’s not going to be Trump.
How about Mike Pence? No, I’m joking folks. 😆 Lighten up. I wouldn’t trust Prnce to clean toilets. 🤮
This could all be solved fairly quickly. Do any political parties care about voting for the VP separately? I doubt it. It just takes an amendment to get rid of this outdated practice that should’ve be done long ago. Which state wouldn’t be fine with having both president and VP as residents?
Didn’t Trump recently say something about seeing himself living in Texas?
But I don’t see that happening. Don’t think he’ll pick someone from FL anyway.
I still think Marco is on his list as the token Hispanic, just as Elise is the token woman.
