Masked anti-Israel protesters took over a New York City subway car on Monday and demanded to know if there were any “Zionists” on the train — then warned them: ‘This is your chance to get out.”
The sickening moment came after protesters rallied in Union Square Park in Manhattan and held up a banner that read “Long live October 7.”
One antisemitic demonstrator at the event yelled that he wished “Hitler was still here” to “wipe out” the Jews.
Later, the mob of protesters lit flares and waved flags associated with Hezbollah and Hamas in front of the Nova Music Festival Exhibition on Wall Street during an organized “citywide day of rage for Gaza.”

You'd be surprised to know that approximately 500,000 half and quarter Jewish men served in Hitler's Wehrmacht, despite his having stripped them of their German citizenship. After WWI, many German Jews built lives for themselves, and just wanted to be considered as "good Germans," moving away from their Jewishness. They married non-Jews. German Jews even discriminated against eastern Jews. They thought they were of a lower class, and wanted nothing to do with them. So when Hitler started cracking down on his racial laws, those Jews who had tried to rid themselves of their Jewishness, couldn't understand why they were being targeted.
Also, in some of the Ghettos, some of the leaders of those Ghettos believed the best way to deal with the situation was to cooperate with the Nazis, so when it came time to round people up to send them to "labor" camps, those leaders encouraged the people to go along. The Vilna (now in Lithuania) Ghetto leader had a saying, "A Jew with a job is a Jew with a future," and the people bought it.
This same Ghetto leader ignored the warnings of the resistance fighters in the Ghetto, that those people being taken away were being taken to their deaths.
This guy had quotas he had to fill for the Nazis, so he did his best to comply. He had just sworn in 200 new auxiliary policemen from within the Ghetto to help with rounding the people up. When he ended up being short 200 people for the Nazi quota, he told all those new policemen to go to the gate of the Ghetto, and they'd be met by somebody who would take them to where the people were hiding. When they got there, they discovered that they were the missing 200 bodies, and were shipped out to Estonia. In September 1943, that Ghetto was liquidated, and days later that Ghetto Leader was arrested and executed. That's what his cooperating with the Nazis got him.

Last time I rode the NY subway was in 1996 I believe. I'd taken my youngest son to the city to see Shaquille O'Neil play his last game against the Knicks as a member of the Orlando Magic. We got there the day before and I wanted to take the ferry out to Ellis Island, which is where my father, his two brothers, and their parents arrived in 1913. We got on the train, and didn't get very far when the train broke down, and we all had to get off. We just walked the rest of the way.
I worked in NY State Corrections, and there were a few times when I, and another officer would have to take an inmate down to the City, either for a court hearing, or for a funeral visit. We'd usually go down the evening before, and drop the inmate off at Sing-Sing or the Brooklyn House of Detention for an overnight stay, then pick him back up the next morning. What a zoo. When I made Sergeant, that wasn't part of my duties anymore. You couldn't pay me enough now to go to NY City these days.
