I've been asked to chime in, so I'm chiming. But you're not gonna like it. The state of discourse on FR is totally up to you. You know the guidelines and rules. I don't need to repeat them again and again and again. We are mostly adults here and mostly Christian conservatives. We all know how to behave in a mixed public setting. We don't need and don't want to be supervised.
Before you post that next profane post or personal attack just ask yourself, what would Jesus do.
Can't we all just get along?

I’ve always seen FR as a place ready-made for debate in the forum of ideas.
The issue as I see it is the ability of FReepers to have knowledgeable and good-faith debates. Very difficult it seems, but enlightening when it happens, especially among minds that are open to aspects of the truth they weren’t previously aware.
I’ve learned a lot in my 20+ years on FR and part of it was in good-faith debates that was absent small minds that can’t take another reasonable and knowledgeable viewpoint.
Too often you get opposition from closed, unreasonable, and ignorant minds. Cannot have a fruitful or good-faith debate with those.
When you be like Jesus, you get crucified.
To which you replied:

My contention is that it is not like being crucified as was Jesus. To say or agree that it is, lessens what Jesus really sacrificed. I stand by my statement. In fact, it is exactly what we are supposed to endure when we stand with the Lord, if doing so results in being treated harshly verbally.
I’ve not heard of Eliza before. Thank you for sharing that. I just did a search using Copilot; it brought up possibilities from different sources.
people should keep in mind there are plenty of trolls that come thru the forums with ill intent.

I’ve been on FR for 20 years and I personally have never liked what I refer to as a “pissing contest” between posters here on FR. Unlike other websites, FR allows us to respond to posters in private. I suggest Freepers take their rude and contentious comments to the Private section of FR.
Over my 20 years on FR, I have had the honor of meeting many patriots who became friends all thanks to Jim and his family.
My huge thank you to Jim for providing such a unique and awesome conservative website going back many years when we had Rush, Mark Levin, Tony Snow, and many others on here. It’s been an honor to be here for all of us.

Yes, I can agree with you that civil conduct should rule when on this forum (and thank you for it!).
But. Can we all get along? Nope.
I love our Country. Swore an oath to it. No longer interested in trying to reason or find common cause with those that hate it and wish it harm. (If that puts me on somebody’s naughty list, so be it).
