The project consists of a solar array with a solar generation capacity of up to 530 MWac and an up to 600 MWac battery energy storage system.
“Brave New World” it is.
Cover the Earth with solar panels and wind turbines.
Sounds very environmental.
Where are all of the liberal tree huggers?
If they built in between the trees, the trees would vaporize from the heat. Though there really is no shortage of empty desert outside of the Joshua tree habitat.
Batteries to be “carbon neutral?”
Are they kidding me?
The project consists of a solar array with a solar generation capacity of up to 530 MWac and an up to 600 MWac battery energy storage system...
They show their ignorance. Yes, solar production is stated in Watts or multiples thereof (i.e. kilowatts and megawatts). But storage is in watts/time (i.e. watthours, kilowatt hours kWh, megawatt hours mWh). Without the time component for storage it's meaningless.
It's like talking about the flow rate of your water house in GPM (gallons per minute), then talking about the volume of the bucket you fill with the water house (i.e. 2 gallon bucket). Just like water volume has different units from flow rate, solar production has different units from battery storage.
Democrats must destroy the environment to save the environment [actually to provide “clean” energy for rich people on the coast] ...
Ridiculous...ala Solyndra????? How much money is that going to cost us? The feds involved?
Don’t ever forget - Biden was VP at the time of Solyndra and it was his responsibility to account for $$$ we put in and he did zip zero zilch...everyone got away scot-free with OUR money!
A modern nuclear plant could do the same job in a fraction of the space, but NUKES!
Gotta destroy nature in order to save it.
Ok...what Dem has the contract, or owns the solar company?
I thought those were PROTECTED.
I read the solar farm won’t help that area, just wealthy coastal cities. Boy, Demonicrats are pushing to elect Trump.
Stories like these in inland California are all too typical.
Kern County pols sound like the GOP yokels here in the Fresno area: “There’s nothing we can do about this, but re-elect me so that I can Fight Newsom and Sacramento”.
Meanwhile, San Bernardino County fights back, even to the point of pushing secession. I’ve forwarded their story to my local reps urging them to join the movement. No response. Apparently, they’re content with “fighting Sacramento” and losing every time.
