Last I heard, the SCOTUS is supposed to issue a ruling on immunity for Trump sometime in June.

"Sentencing isn't until July 11 and Trump cannot appeal to the state before then. If he tries some kind of jail, house arrest, or travel restriction, Trump might seek immediate relief from the state or US courts, but what if he plays safe, confirms the conviction and gives him a simple fine and probation? That's hard to claim urgency in the courts.

I think it is better for Trump to wrap himself in the injustice of twice impeached, now a felon by the Dems and play it for all it is worth. He's good at that. Besides, have those two impeachments adversely impacted him at all?

I am point out a realistic outcome. If the judge tries throwing Trump in jail, house arrest, or some such, Trump has clear path and urgency to seek court intervention. But, if the judge just confirms the conviction, gives him a fine and probation, there is no urgency for Trump to pursue.

Is the judge stupid enough to try the first route? Maybe.

The U.S. Supreme Court in recent years has pretty much tossed the concept of "Comity" on the ash heap of history.

What may be ironic is that the blatant violations of Trump's 6th Amendment right will make a quick reversal of any alleged crimes. It's not even a close call.

It could also open up the State of New Your to a huge judgment in a Sec, 1983 lawsuit against the state.
