Trump might seek immediate relief from the state or US courts, but what if he plays safe, confirms the conviction and gives him a simple fine and probation?

You're kinda giving advice to the Cabal here.

I am point out a realistic outcome. If the judge tries throwing Trump in jail, house arrest, or some such, Trump has clear path and urgency to seek court intervention. But, if the judge just confirms the conviction, gives him a fine and probation, there is no urgency for Trump to pursue.

Is the judge stupid enough to try the first route? Maybe.
