I am point out a realistic outcome. If the judge tries throwing Trump in jail, house arrest, or some such, Trump has clear path and urgency to seek court intervention. But, if the judge just confirms the conviction, gives him a fine and probation, there is no urgency for Trump to pursue.

Is the judge stupid enough to try the first route? Maybe.

I get what you’re saying. Plus the more the pressure is on due to pending penalty, the more $$ DJT can receive in the campaign and polls continue to go up. Let alone your point of possibly not having the urgency for appeal if there’s no pending penalty like jail
