You better get real.....If he chose to back out this late in the game, he’s assuring a loss come November.

The Times at its misinformative best. Quite the opposite. He created a reversible error highway throughout the trial you can drive a fleet of trucks through. He wanted a conviction before the election and did not care if it was reversed after the election.

Fed Appeals Court, SCOTUS, even Trump himself if elected Pres. to name a few.
To: Roadrunner383
Last I heard, the SCOTUS is supposed to issue a ruling on immunity for Trump sometime in June.
That would have nothing to do with this case. Trump was not President when the alleged crime occurred.

What part of my comment did you have issue with? Would you mind sharing instead of tossing out an insult?
I wrote:
"Sentencing isn't until July 11 and Trump cannot appeal to the state before then. If he tries some kind of jail, house arrest, or travel restriction, Trump might seek immediate relief from the state or US courts, but what if he plays safe, confirms the conviction and gives him a simple fine and probation? That's hard to claim urgency in the courts.
I think it is better for Trump to wrap himself in the injustice of twice impeached, now a felon by the Dems and play it for all it is worth. He's good at that. Besides, have those two impeachments adversely impacted him at all?

I thought some issue about the case was in late Jan 2017 after he was President
Could be wrong but I recall something like that

Trump is definitely going to be giving his acceptance speech from a NY prison. Not a country worth fighting for. The entire military should put down their arms.
Why do you think that the U.S. Military can't recruit enough young people to join? William Shakespeare's "Coriolanus" comes to mind...

I am point out a realistic outcome. If the judge tries throwing Trump in jail, house arrest, or some such, Trump has clear path and urgency to seek court intervention. But, if the judge just confirms the conviction, gives him a fine and probation, there is no urgency for Trump to pursue.
Is the judge stupid enough to try the first route? Maybe.

Wishful thinking from The Old Grey Mare.
Reminds me of the projection 2 weeks before the 2016 election. They gave Hillary a 93% chance of victory and The Donald 7%.

IMO, the NYTimes is nothing more than the mouthpiece for the CIA specifically, and the Deep State in general.

Trump can go to the U.S. District Court;
NOW The U.S. Supreme Court in recent years has pretty much tossed the concept of "Comity" on the ash heap of history.
What may be ironic is that the blatant violations of Trump's 6th Amendment right will make a quick reversal of any alleged crimes. It's not even a close call.
It could also open up the State of New Your to a huge judgment in a Sec, 1983 lawsuit against the state.

The NYT is really trying to convince the sheeple that the Trump verdict is iron clad. I wonder what the focus groups have told the DNC about labeling Trump as a convicted felon?
I bet it the verdict were overturned, that a lot of independents would suddenly believe that lawfare is a corruption of the judicial system and that Biden and his administration is corrupt beyond all belief.

yep, what just happened to Trump was the exact same thing Democrats did to blacks during the civil rights movement. And it is unconstitutional and opens NY to a lawsuit from the Trump family eventually.
To: traderrob6
You might be right, so you don’t think Trump backing a revenge candidate would work?
