On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” CNN Senior Political Commentator and former Obama adviser David Axelrod stated that he thinks “it’s a good thing in this country if, no matter who you are, you are held accountable when you break the law.” But acknowledged that the case against 2024 Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump relied on a “novel legal theory” but Trump’s crime “was there for everybody to see.”

“novel legal theory”
IOW - made up.
Here’s a novel thought for Axlegrease: If it takes a novel legal theory to show a crime, would a reasonable person ever know they were committing the crime (mens rea)?
Gee. I GUESS TEXAS CAN START ENFORCING FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAW!!!
Texas can now sue Obama for spying on Americans without warrants
Except for the color blind who cannot see orange.
‘Novel Legal Theory’ mut be the new terminology for BS. I’ll stick with BS.
Nelson Mandella was guilty of thousands of laws.
Many individuals who have experienced mistreatment or unfairness at the hands of a large corrupt government entity may find themselves more inclined to sympathize with Donald Trump, identify with him.
When people feel like they have been treated poorly or unfairly by a corrupt big government, it can create a sense of frustration and disillusionment. They may perceive that their needs and concerns are being overlooked or dismissed. In such situations, they might see someone like Donald Trump, who positioned himself as an outsider challenging the established political order, as a potential solution to their grievances. Trump's rhetoric and promises to shake up the system resonated with those who felt marginalized or neglected by the government. It's important to acknowledge that people's experiences and perspectives can shape their political sympathies, and this connection between feeling mistreated by a big government and finding sympathy for Trump is a reflection of that.

Trump, during his presidential campaign, positioned himself as an outsider who would challenge the established political order. His promises to shake up the system and give a voice to those who felt marginalized resonated with many people who had negative experiences with big government. They saw him as a potential solution to their grievances and a way to address the issues they faced.
It's important to acknowledge that people's personal experiences and perspectives heavily influence their political sympathies. This connection between feeling mistreated by a corrupt big government and finding sympathy for Trump is a reflection of that. By understanding these dynamics, we can gain insights into the complex interplay between personal experiences and political affiliations.
There...fixed.
Translation: It was a fake crime.
If it took a novel/illegal theory then there was nothing to be accountable for! Axelrod was always an idiot!
We don’t need a novel legal theory
to put the entire Biden family in prison,it’s called Treason!
Yes,put Obama is an adjoining cell
Axelgrease must be competing for the most inane euphemism trophy with that “Novel Legal Theory” claptrap.
They’re not using “Novel Legal Theory” on our President. They’re using Nazi Legal Theory.
Surely that novel legal theory has a statutes number. Oh and my cursory knowledge of science a theory and law are two different things. Our judicial system is based on law not theory.
“it’s a good thing in this country if, no matter who you are, you are held accountable when you break the law.”
Too bad we’ve yet to see that happen with any politicians who have actually broken the law.
Axelrod knows good and well that the trial was a sham. We all know it was. Anyone who’s paying attention knows it. What’s different about Democrats is that they’re fine with it. After all, it damaged their political rival. That’s all that matters to them now.
This nonsense about how this verdict shows “no one is above the law” is the definition of ridiculousness.
James Comey did not say Hillary didn’t break the law, he confirmed she broke it with her secret email server, but he said he couldn’t find a prosecutor who would charge her.
Hur did not say Biden didn’t break the law regarding possession of top-secret documents, Hur said Biden was a doddering old man that no one would be able to prosecute.
Seems to me both of them were put “above the law”.
A “novel legal theory” is an unconstitutional “ex post facto” law.
No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.
“Novel legal theory” = criminal behavior by leftists.
I do hope they ALL end up in GITMO in hard labor for the rest of their worthless lives.
