The Bronx is both a county of New York State and a borough of New York City, as are the other four boroughs. The five boroughs do not have the power that the other counties of New York State have, as the New York City government handles most functions normally handled by the other counties in that state.
LOL...ask any NYC ( all 5 boroughs ) and they’ll tell you that each is a borough, but thanks for the clarification...which I’m going to check.

True but each county/borough still maintains its own District Attorney. The boroughs used to have more self govt. Things like street maintenance which created excellent opportunities for graft.
