U.S. President Joe Biden's public approval rating this month fell to its lowest level in almost two years, tying the lowest reading of his presidency in a warning sign for his reelection effort, a Reuters/Ipsos poll showed.
The four-day poll, which closed on Monday, showed just 36% of Americans approve of Biden's job performance as president, down from 38% in April. It was a return to the lowest approval rating of his presidency, last seen in July 2022. While this month's drop was within the poll's 3 percentage point margin of error, it could bode poorly for Biden as he faces off with Republican Donald Trump in the Nov. 5 presidential election.
Biden, a Democrat, has been largely tied with Trump in national polls asking voters how they will vote. But Trump has had slight leads over Biden in many polls in the states seen as most likely to determine the winner in the U.S. Electoral College.
The poll laid out Biden's weaknesses as well as a few strengths. The state of the economy was seen as the top issue, picked by 23% of respondents as the most important problem facing the country. Some 21% saw political extremism as the top issue and 13% picked immigration.
Some 40% of respondents in the poll said Trump, who was president from 2017 to 2021, had better policies for the U.S. economy, compared to 30% who picked Biden, while the rest said they didn't know or didn't answer the question. Trump had a significant edge on immigration, with 42% of respondents preferring his approach to the issue, while 25% picked Biden.
Biden had a modest advantage on the issue of political extremism, with 34% of respondents picking the president's approach and 30% saying Trump was better on the issue.

The fact that they asked that question is because they want to change the subject from Lieden's and Trump's actual policies and they hoped Lieden would have an advantage on that. Given how the media hammers that theme it's a surprisingly small advantage.
The article has even more blatant bias toward the end:
Trump falsely claims his 2020 election defeat resulted from fraud. He included the claim in a fiery speech shortly before hundreds of his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Five people died.
That has no logical connection to Lieden's approval ratings - what the article is allegedly about. Trying to change the subject.
Aside from the fact that they repeat the usual unprovable claim that Trump's belief that the election was stolen is false, who are the five people who died? The linked article says four people died that day. I think they were all Trump supporters, although I only knew about two. The linked article doesn't explain anything about who those people were.
The fifth is the Capitol officer who died of natural causes the next day. The linked article conveys the impression, without explicitly saying it, that the officer who died of natural causes was killed by Trump's supporters. It also links the later suicides of four officers to Trump supporters. Appalling stuff.

Well, it IS Reuters (Canadian) BTW.
Does this mean he is going to send shoot to kill orders to everyone who disapproves of him just asking so I know when to buy my bulletproof vest
He’ll still win in November, only with eleventy-billion “votes” this time!
The alternative candidate(s) would be attractive, well-spoken, and well-rehearsed to claim surprise and although reluctant to serve, will do so to preserve our "democracy". Triangulation might be likely (meaning that the candidates could say that "Joe went too far" in places.)
Am I certain of this? Of course not, it's merely a guess. That said, we should prepare for the contingency by making strong, popular policy platforms now, and expecting to run against a pretend middle ground, and not just JB.
36 percent of Americans are morons.
Years ago I was a democrat precinct worker - I think there was lots of fraud going on... Want to know where it happens? In swing states... in precincts that hand in their ballot boxes 3 or 4 hours later than the rest of the state.
Remember many who disapprove of Joe think he’s not far enough to the Left for them.
People say that, but I do t see Kamala going quietly, or remaining second banana quietly
His retard rating is off the scale and he least be can brag about that
That is good for us. They may not vote at all OR the will vote for RFKJr.
Same thing that happened to Bush Sr when Clinton won a three way race.
1) I remember Joe being very unpopular two years ago ( and one year ago, and three years ago, and four years ago ...)
2) I don’t remember the media admitting that Joe was unpopular two years ago.
His real approval rating is around 10% and I’d bet on it.
“Biden, a Democrat, has been largely tied with Trump in national polls”
Really?
Let’s hope all of the marxist dims fall below the margin of cheat.
Well, it’s Rooters…😜
“The state of the economy was seen as the top issue, picked by 23% of respondents as the most important problem facing the country. Some 21% saw political extremism as the top issue and 13% picked immigration.”
Political extremism as the 2nd top issue almost double over the issue of immigration? What alternate universe does Reuters live in? Sounds like they have been running their polls in the upper Manhattan West side and calling them “national” polls
🐂💨💩
‘He’ll still win in November, only with eleventy-billion “votes” this time!’
I’m afraid that you’re right. They’ll “find” just enough votes in just enough swing states to “win.” And the next moring around here there will be great gnashing of teeth and choruses of “we wuz robbed” and the media will declare Trump and his supporter to be sore losers and their claims of fraud to be meritless. And that will be that.
