For shaaaaaaameeee! JK...you did great! :)
I missed the Mary Tyler Moore and WKRP questions. I never watched those two so had no idea who the characters were.
I did get the mowing done but waited til 5:30 to head out to do it. It was a hot day. My thermometer showed 90. But with the breeze, I was fairly comfy while out on Champ. And I managed to get an area done that I’d intended to do yesterday before I was rudely interrupted by Dusty and crew.
Dang!!! I thought he was out there again tonight! I just saw bright light through the window out of the corner of my eye and it looked like he was in the front field again. But it’s the guy across the road doing some work in his field.
Everyone’s trying to get yard/field work done before the week of rain ahead.
Smart of them to get stuff ready for the rain. How is the corn doing? Glad you got the mowing done.
Dang! Y’all were nearly as hot as us. It was “only” a high of 92 here today.
Just zipping right along😁😁😁
Good deal!
10 out of 10. penny was angela cartwright also the one who got all the muck from the aliens meal scene.
9 out of 10...
My finger inadvertently hit the screen on the Perry Mason one and chose a wrong answer. But then realized I didn’t know the correct answer anyway, so that’s cool.
Bible in a Year :
The eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
In a spiritual sense, King Asa of Judah lost his fighting edge. Early in his reign, he relied on God in the face of daunting odds. As the mighty Cushites prepared to attack, Asa prayed, “Help us, Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this vast army” (2 Chronicles 14:11). God answered his prayer, and Judah struck down and scattered their enemies (vv. 12-15).
Years later, Judah was threatened again. This time a complacent Asa ignored God and instead asked the king of Aram for help (16:2-3). It seemed to work. But God wasn’t pleased. The prophet Hanani told Asa that he’d stopped trusting God (vv. 7-8). Why hadn’t he relied on God now as he had then?
Our God is unfailingly reliable. His eyes “range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him” (v. 9). When we keep our spiritual edge—fully depending on God—we’ll experience His power.
Reflect & Pray
As you age, is it easier or harder to trust your heavenly Father? Why do you think that is? How might God strengthen your faith?
Dear Jesus, may I rest in You more each day.
I didn’t think he was going to do anything with that field this year. It’s covered with TALL grass and weeds. All I can see are the lights on his rig but I assume he’s plowing it under now. The weather we’ve had hasn’t been the best for working fields so he’s running behind. He works a lot of land and really doesn’t have equipment big enough, so it takes longer to do. My hat’s off to him because he works his butt off.
Hey, that’s 10 degrees cooler than to 102 you had! It counts. LOL
We might have a rough day ahead, though it isn’t supposed to be as bad as what IA and IL had this evening. At least that’s what they say.
Sunday’s what I’m concerned about. They say that WILL be nasty.
9/10 Never watched Perry Mason.
0 of however many. I did not watch any of the shows shown. I was probably in the military when these shows were on TV.
Smart guy...with a good eye! I didn’t even notice that!
You have a great attitude! LOL! Great score too!
Good evening, Rus! Always good to see YOU! Thanks for our beautiful lesson from God’s Word.
It’s surprising the difference 10 degrees makes. I mean, yeah it was still hot, but not scorching. We’re back in the mid-to-upper 90s for the rest of the week.
Fingers crossed that things don’t get as bad for you as they are saying. Iowa was slammed hard today. Not even sure how the eagle cams are. They took the cams offline so they wouldn’t get zapped by lightning. Oh, I just looked. They’re back on and the Decorah North babies are soaked but ok. Lots of critter noise in the background. Not sure what. LOL!
You might have been. Didn’t see much TV from the belly of a sub, huh Dude. LOL!
10 of 10. And my sister’s house didn’t get blown down today, so it’s a good day!
Yep, 10 degrees makes a difference, but 90-anything is still hot. LOL
You’ll go back up a little for the rest of the week and we’ll back off into the mid 80s. It won’t rain all the time and when the sun pokes out, it’ll be steamy.
There might be some severe storms here and there tomorrow and it looks like the brunt won’t come down here. We’ll see how that works out.
Man, IA got slammed by huge tornados. Did you see the one Timmer got on video? Holy cow!
The other Decorah cam never was shut off during the storms and it didn’t get awfully bad there. Nothing like it did at Farmer Derek’s ranch the other day.
What you hear at DNN is frogs. LOTS of frogs. LOL
