Courts in England are reportedly looking to scrap the requirement for barristers to wear traditional wigs amid claims that they discriminate against lawyers with “Afro-Caribbean hair”.

The iconic manner of dress in English courtrooms may become wokism’s latest scalp as demands have been made to abandon the requirement of barristers to wear wigs in front of the court because they are “culturally insensitive”, The Telegraph reports.

The British are a bit more compulsive than most in holding on to certain traditions. Powdered wigs as a style for the upper classes (with a nearly shaved head underneath to avoid lice) in the formal setting of a courtroom is one example.

Different professions, doctors or lawyers, would wear different styles of wigs. It used to be common throughout Europe. The movie Amadeus is a great example of the customs at the Imperial court in Vienna. The Brits just hold on longer to such things and to call it racist is ludicrous.
