All five members of a Sherman crew return on foot as their tank burns in the distance in 1944

Check the many interesting comments below the video:

“Three of my Father’s cousins served in armored regiments. Two of them were killed in action in Italy in 1944. Both were in Shermans.”

Howdy, radu!

Yes, we got a couple of temper tantrums in the late afternoon/early evening. I had just gotten home from the grocery store as the first one got underway. Got the car into the garage just as the heavens opened up.

How about you? I know spring has been a bit crazy in your neck of the woods too. I hope you and the kitties are all safe!

Hey there, radu!

No, the later it gets, the harder it blows. But to be fair, the high tomorrow is only supposed to be in the low 70s...down from 92 today, so I guess we’ve got a “cold front” moving in. It might even rain, too, but as usual I’m not holding my breath.

I take it, since you are here, that your area missed the really bad stuff that hit near Nashville and other locations north of you. What a relief! Are you still in the zone tonight? I know that towns along the route we take to go see the kids has been under the gun tonight. EEK!

So you DID get a couple of storms today, huh? I was surprised to see anything going on down there and hoped you missed out. Good timing getting back from the grocery store. LOL

Things are much quieter here. The sun even came out this afternoon.

It’s been a crazy Spring for a lot of folks this year and it would be NICE if things would settle down for a while.

Well, it feels east to me, since I live in the armpit of West Texas. LOL! I’m glad that all the bad stuff has missed you. Did y’all get flooded there like they did in College Station and Houston? Don’t you still have friends/famiy in Houston?

I don’t know how the kids have been. They are even worse communicators than I am. *rolling eyes* I guess we’d have heard if they flooded out, but my son says they are on high ground where their house is in north Bryan.

I heard that Wimberley got slammed tonight. It’s one of my favorite little hill country towns. According to a chaser there: “[it] just got rocked by likely hurricane-force winds, car was rocking violently. Many trees and power lines down throughout the town.” Bad hail storm in Hico...another favorite. I’m really glad we didn’t choose today to head that direction, but we want to before long.

Since the wind is with a cold front moving in, that’s a reason not to gripe. LOL It’s going to be a nice drop in temperature so it’s worth a little wind. Some rain with it would have been nice but it stayed east of you today. Now it’s wearing out MS, AL, and GA but no tornados, thank goodness.
It looked pretty dicey in east TX this afternoon and this evening when I checked the radar.

Northern TN got slammed pretty hard yesterday. There were tornados and really nasty storms around here last night but nothing bad right HERE. Twice, there were tornado-warned storms that had a bede on town but they died out before they got here.
It was amazing to step outside, do a 360 turn, and see the sky flashing along the horizon everywhere all night long. Crazy. Much quieter tonight and we have 70s for highs the next several days.

A very pleasant good Friday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks Beach for this morning's thread.

We had a Severe T-Storm Warning here yesterday afternoon however it didn't do anymore here than produce enough thunder and lightning to spook Gizmo into hiding under the bed.

Yesterday at Chisolm Trail Park:

How's everyone doing this morning?

Yes, I’m kinda pumped about the cooler days for the next few days. Easing into summer is way better than just jumping into the furnace head first.

Sounds like we have sort of the same temps. Hope you enjoy yours, too. Will the pollen let you chill on your patio for a while. I wanted to this evening, but man. The wind just won’t let up! Haha...right now, according to my weather app, you’re 1 degree warmer than we are.

To: Songcraft

LOL! Good evening/morning, Songcraft. That was exactly what it was doing for a couple hours. Then it quit and now a couple hours later all the snow is gone.

The entire landscape, including my street was ALL white last night. Then it all melted by about 10a and it started to rain, which we really need. Then the snow started again and with a vengence.

Hope all the really nasty weather was nowhere near you.

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

I was surprised to see the weather over there this afternoon when I checked the radar. I thought the rough weather was going to give everyone a break for a few days. Glad the storms weren’t too bad after all, though they were enough to spook poor Gizmo. At least he had a god time at Chisolm Trail Park to give him a bright spot in the day.

We both have some weather worth being pumped about. It hasn’t been quite as hot here as it’s been there but it’s felt like summer. A week of spring temps will be nice.

The pollen’s still high enough to bug me but I’ll probably sit on the patio a few time in the evenings to watch the lightning bugs wake up.

It’s getting late, mid May, for this intense snow, but the spring temps took care of the snow pretty quickly. Had it been below freezing, we would have had several inches of wet snow. Thankfully it wasn’t, but it was coming down so fast and heavy that it covered everything. As soon as it stopped, the melting began and it’s all gone now.

Thank goodness the bad stuff hasn’t affected you. And you stay safe, too!

Yep, we were able to stay a few minutes but at least we got to get some activity in. Today is forecast to be much nicer.
