MTG Pulls the Trigger, Forces the House to Vote to Expel Speaker Johnson
Breitbart ^ | 08 May 2024 | Bradley Jaye

Posted on 05/08/2024 2:28:41 PM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has filed a privileged motion to vacate the chair, forcing the House to vote within two legislative days to eject Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).

Johnson is expected to immediately move to table – and effectively kill – the motion, a vote which requires a simple majority. Yet House rules do not prohibit Greene, or any other lawmaker, from forcing additional votes, and she and her allies have not tipped their hand as to what they’ll do should the motion be killed.

Further, Johnson’s immediate future, despite assurances from Johnson-friendly media outlets, is far from certain. Some Republicans, including those who will vote against ejecting Johnson, may vote against the tabling motion out of principle. Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH) has announced he would do so, although he has not said how he will vote on the motion to vacate itself.

Greene pulled the trigger Wednesday after almost two months of warnings for Johnson to end his coalition government with Democrats during which the endangered Speaker unleashed a torrent of President Joe Biden’s priorities into law.

While long anticipated, the motion’s inevitability seemed to wane this week as Greene and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) met Monday and Tuesday with Johnson for a combined three hours to discuss a path forward. The pair proposed four accountability measures to ensure the Speaker would not advance an agenda opposed by a majority of Republicans, including preventing further American funding of Ukraine’s faraway war.

Johnson had continued to state he was hearing the duo out and considering their proposals while insisting it was “not a negotiation.”

But Tuesday evening, after complaining (yet again) he had not been getting enough sleep, Johnson appeared to let the veil drop, sneering and rolling his eyes when asked if he would give Greene an answer soon.

I answered every one of your irrelevant deflection strawmen.

You have yet to answer one single question of mine-nor ever will.

and the answer to the last one is selfishness in need of instant gratification. It is the only answer to the backstabbing clown show.

Trump: ‘Not the time’ for Greene’s effort to boot Johnson as Speaker

seems it’s ‘nuff said time as if the above was actually in doubt.

She has fight in her. Too bad she isn't a strategic genius with an iron fist. That is what the GOP needs in Congress. Someone who fights, has the courage of Maggie Thatcher, the leadership qualities of Ronald Reagan, a stainless steel spine, the wisdom of Solomon and Nancy Pelosi’s shiv.

Jeffries has been bragging that he effectively runs the House, taking credit for pushing the Democrat agenda while blaming Johnson for anything that goes wrong. So what if Johnson is sacked. He brings nothing to the table.

So what was the alternative...to shut down the government?

Three or four Assistant Democrats have promised to switch parties if he is.

Just think of all the legislation the Democrats could jam through between now and November with a majority in the House.

Wouldn’t that be wonderful?

The Rats shut down the government for 3 billion in border wall funding...so yes, if necessary. It wouldn’t be necessary by the way if the Repukes knew the first thing about negotiating over the years.

What he meant by that is that Johnson is providing all the important items that are needed in an actual Republican controlled Congress. So, yes the comment was offered in jest, sort of but not entirely. He is basically rubbing Johnson nose in the dirt, as if they have compromising information about him.

What MTG did was put Johnson on notice for his misdeeds after promising to support the 7 points he promised he would, before his name was put up for the Speakership. She knew that the votes were not there even from the Republicans, so it was performative, more than anything else.

Trump may indeed be wanting to see a Congress not divided on the Republican Party. Because if they lost control to the Democrats then they would surely block him from taking the Presidency. But trump is not stupid man by any shape form or function.

Do not be so sure what we can or can’t accomplish. People are getting more & more disgusted with the Democrats as they keep exposing themselves as to what they are all about. Their overriding desire is to maintain their power & enrich themselves and constituents be damned. The same thing is true for RINOs also. It will take new blood for the people to regain control of Congress where both Houses have lost control, and are running this nation into the dirt, making the U.S. just another shithole nation no different than the countless banana republics out there already. By the time the election rolls around it will be even more committed to actually going for real change.

I answered every one

No you didn't. You're dancing and dodging. Lets try again with these 4 to start.

1. Why is the “Greatest” country on earth 34 trillion in debt? All Democrats fault?

2. Why have the Republicans not secured our borders during the past 50 years of this epic invasion? Is it all the Democrats fault?

3. Why did Republicans line up to stab Trump in the back during his first term?

4. Why are the Republicans not kicking over their podiums in front of the MSM demanding this corrupt lawfare against Trump be stopped immediately?

Hahah. That will never be defeated in an up or down vote in the house. It will pass overwhelmingly. 53 people will not be responsible for it in the house.

Trump held the longest shutdown in history....for 3 billion dollars to protect and defend the southern border. They just gave 60 billion to Ukraine without batting an eye. I remember that time very well. REPUKES were running to CNN to te Trump people are hurting. I have absolutely no time for the Repuke party. They are no better than the Rats. The only differnt is they won’t initiate more Jan 6 committees to investigate Trump...even that isn’t certain as thr Mueller investigation was really triggered by Repukes.
