MTG Pulls the Trigger, Forces the House to Vote to Expel Speaker Johnson
Breitbart ^ | 08 May 2024 | Bradley Jaye

Posted on 05/08/2024 2:28:41 PM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has filed a privileged motion to vacate the chair, forcing the House to vote within two legislative days to eject Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).

Johnson is expected to immediately move to table – and effectively kill – the motion, a vote which requires a simple majority. Yet House rules do not prohibit Greene, or any other lawmaker, from forcing additional votes, and she and her allies have not tipped their hand as to what they’ll do should the motion be killed.

Further, Johnson’s immediate future, despite assurances from Johnson-friendly media outlets, is far from certain. Some Republicans, including those who will vote against ejecting Johnson, may vote against the tabling motion out of principle. Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH) has announced he would do so, although he has not said how he will vote on the motion to vacate itself.

Greene pulled the trigger Wednesday after almost two months of warnings for Johnson to end his coalition government with Democrats during which the endangered Speaker unleashed a torrent of President Joe Biden’s priorities into law.

While long anticipated, the motion’s inevitability seemed to wane this week as Greene and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) met Monday and Tuesday with Johnson for a combined three hours to discuss a path forward. The pair proposed four accountability measures to ensure the Speaker would not advance an agenda opposed by a majority of Republicans, including preventing further American funding of Ukraine’s faraway war.

Johnson had continued to state he was hearing the duo out and considering their proposals while insisting it was “not a negotiation.”

But Tuesday evening, after complaining (yet again) he had not been getting enough sleep, Johnson appeared to let the veil drop, sneering and rolling his eyes when asked if he would give Greene an answer soon.

“We need a couple hundred MTGs”

There is not and will not be “a couple hundred MTGs” in the House. That;s just the practicle fact. She and you need to deal with it.

The fact that no one in the GOP except a handful is interested in doing the obvious, needed task of replacing this guy Johnson, is just a horrible, cringing, disgrace.

The Grand Old Party is face down for the count.

What is more shameful is the FR Wimp Caucus here who bash any movement or showing of opposition to the communist takeover by the Rats, whatever. I swear anyone who tries to breathe life and testosterone into the GOP is immediately shouted down by EVERYONE... the FR Wimp Caucus, the Mainslime Media, Fox, the Rats, everyone.

Sad to say, this poor MTG woman is the ONLY GOP representative with balls. Huge, swinging, hirsute, testosterone-filled balls.

It's pitiful SHE has to show the whole nutless lot of them how to wield their balls. But as you say, you can't push a noodle.

The GOP wimps are hopeless.

If the ZDems were running the show,

they have about 50 things fr packing SCOTUS to convicting Trump of insurrection with plenty of goodies in between.

The replies as if Pres Trump is an uninformed invalid desiring peace in the House before the election are insulting at the bare minimum.

I think Marjorie Taylor Greene loves Marjorie Taylor Greene. First, foremost and over all else. I think she has the brains of a doorknob and the ego of an ocean liner.

With the weak kneed Republican’s in the House right now Donald Trump doesn’t have a chance getting any changes done once he occupies the White House.

These cowards will not be there when the time comes to back him up. There is No way he’s going to turn the Titanic around it time to prevent its sinking.

As a result, we’ll all have to pay. Hold on to your wallet’s folks.

He didn’t torpedo anything. It never passed the Senate. If it DOES somehow pass the Senate it WILL pass the house.

Pretty much everyone here is outraged over the border/bull shit wars/zillions in debt etc.

The problem is in D.C...Not here. Gezzzz. It's your corrupt so called elected lying corrupt politicians. What you or anyone else thinks here is totally irrelevant. Meaningless. The only way out was elections. And why the elections are also now tainted and subverted.

She has not learned when to attack and when to wait for a more oportune time. She’d have better luck with her strategy if and when a new GOP mojority could start a new session.

I agree this was not the right time. With the voters it will hurt the Republicans and Trump. The Republicans can not get their act together , not a good look to the voters.

Finally!!!!

Pres Trump doesn’t know the elections are tainted!!!

The problem was posted pages ago-

Pres Trump desires peace in the House prior to the elections.

It is not complicated in the slightest.

If that is his desire, why isn’t it your desire too?

Meaningless garbage. Johnson has overwhelming support, the only other available candidate is Hakeem Jeffries.

**************

True statement.

Also, which Speaker would be better for the energy sector of the United States?.....The guy from Louisiana (Johnson) or the communist dimwit from New York.(Jeffries)

“ I agree this was not the right time. With the voters it will hurt the Republicans and Trump. The Republicans can not get their act together , not a good look to the voters.”

Do you really think the average American knows this is going on? They barely know that there are three branches of government.
