It followed separate allegations by a whistleblowing engineer that Boeing took shortcuts to reduce production bottlenecks while making the 787.

Yes, it was already posted today. (And I commented that there are 90,000 airline flights a day around the world, to put things in perspective.)

While everyone seems to like dissing on Boeing lately (some deservedly) in this case it has nothing to do with Boeing, this is a fedex maintenance issue

Well, it wasn’t a 787. It was a 767 and stories like this demonstrate how stupid the media and most readers can be.
Boeing’s problems (and they are severe) do not affect planes that have been out of production (like the 767).

Why did the 767 get the works?
That’s nobody’s business but the Turks

The incident comes at a time when Boeing’s safety record is under intense scrutiny and faulty airline maintenance is being ignored. Because the ignorami in Big Media are having a feeding frenzy.
It's Shark Week.

Absolutely right.
Aside from the original 2 Max plane crashes and the door falling off, none of these daily Boeing stories are the fault of Boeing. 5 years ago this story would have read, “Fed Ex plane makes emergency landing”.
Now every plane mishap in the world is identified as Boeing. Even planes that are decades old.

Some years ago, a friend bought a used Beech King Air 200. Had it thoroughly inspected, had a clean bill of health. A few months later, after flying it several times without incident, the front landing gear collapsed while he was towing it out of its hangar. IIRC, some sort of pin (I'm not an A&P mechanic) had been installed backwards, worked loose, and fell out.
Stuff happens.

Sixty-five years ago I was in a PanAm hanger on 36th St in Miami. Over the exit doorway from the hanger area going into the mechanics’ locker room was a large sign reminding the mechanics that the lives of their passengers and crews were in their hands. It made such an impression on me that I remembered it all these years. Sure wish I had the exact wording.

What is up with Boeing lately?
They have some people who let slip they were voting for Trump?
Or are they really having this many problems, and they all just happen to be occurring right now?
