The Ukraine is a border region. Everyone wants to expand into it.

Historically, it is part of Russia.
It is not part of the North Atlantic. NATO has no business being there.

NATO is an defensive alliance of countries, not a nation. Expansion of a club’s membership is not the same as stealing a country.

Historically, the US was native America. We have no business being here. /s

Historically is was also a part of Poland. Oh wait, it as also historically a part of the Mongol empire, as was Moscow. This nostalgia for past empires leads to war. What is important today is that the Ukrainians are a separate people from the Russians. Historical imperial Russian rule does not justify Russia trying to reimpose its rule today. The way to peace is for the Russians to fully accept Ukrainian independence.

Particularly when, IIRC, UKR is NOT a NATO member or officially recognized and documented NATO aspirant. Cart before the horse here if you ask me.
