The North Carolina man who shot and killed three U.S Marshal Task Force officers and one Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officer was a felon barred from firearm possession.

One of the three deceased task force officers was a Deputy U.S. Marshal, according to CNN.

Breitbart News reported the incident unfolded Monday around 1:30 p.m. when the task force and the CMPD officer attempted to serve a warrant for a felon in possession of a firearm.

The US Marshals Task Force, which is comprised of officers from multiple agencies, was conducting an investigation in the area of the 5000 block of Galway Dr when they were engaged by active gunfire from a subject.

I was wondering why it is hard to find any mention of the shooter’s name in news reports. Now I know.

Still more proof that you can have all the unConstitutional gun laws you want... Criminals won’t obey them.

This guy should not have been on the streets to begin with. Revolving door policies strike again.

That being said... I still do not approve of the permanent disability for 2A... They didn’t have anything stronger to go after this guy with?

Curious as to why a U.S. Marshal would be involved in what sounds like a fairly routine arrest. Unlawful possession of a firearm isn’t a charge the feds will bother with unless it’s in conjunction with something else.

I thought this was settled by Supreme Court. You are allowed a weapon in your hone even if you are a felon.

They really ripped apart that house.
The previous police chase and the perps other crimes show he has no concern for human life. It would have been infinitely better if they could have arrested him someplace where he had less cover & access to weapons. Plus, it looks like there were other people in the house, complicating things.

If there were several charges, throw the book on him. If he’s out, then he’s out. Seems a lot went wrong here. Sometimes, you just have to tolerate a thug for a bit, if that’s the case.

Waiting for the Grand Poobahs of US Marshal tactics to explain the success of this decisive, methodical, well-thought out, well-orchestrated raid ON A HOUSE IN A NEIGHBORHOOD that resulted in the death of four well-trained, well-armed officers...several of which do this kind of thing on a REGULAR BASIS.

Thank goodness no innocent civilians (KIDS) in the surrounding houses were killed...even though these brave officers obviously could’ve cared less about the neighbors.

I saw this point being made yesterday. Good point.

A reply to this point was that if he was taken in a public place, his level of violence could have taken out civillians as well.

"If me and my family were at the Dairy Queen, then you better beleive I don't want him taken out there".

I nearly barfed after reading your post.

Would you have preferred he be arrested out in public where the possibility of him killing civilians would be high?

You would have bitched about bystanders at risk of being killed.

Amazing how he broke that law and got a gun anyway. However did that happen?

Seal Team Six raid that resulted in the killing of Osama bin Laden didn't result in casualties on our side.

And this is how the Demoncrats ... I mean Democrats are going to keep arms out of the hands of criminals after they disarm all law abiding citizens.

Gun laws are a waste of time and Unconstitutional.

Drug laws aren't much better.

He did time for B&E ... unless we're going to impose life without parole for ALL crimes, we're going to have convicted felons who have completed their sentences living amongst us. We need to deal with that situation wisely.

I am a firm believer if a person is on the street, that person has every other right as any other person. By allowing people back on the street, who should not be on the street, guarantees moments like this.

Now goooooooooberment will take this moment to try and take away more of your free moments.

You seem to be under the impression there are only two locations in Charlotte...the perp’s house...and “out in public with bystanders at risk”.

Wrong, boobie.

I live in Charlotte and I can attest to the fact that there are PLENTY of spaces where there is absolutely nobody. Would this guy ever visit those areas...I’m not going to guess. (Like you did when you wrote “where the possibility of him killing civilians would be high”, or I “would have bitched about bystanders at risk of being killed” or, that I “Would...have preferred he be arrested out in public”.).

I would have suggested the officers wait and pull him over, while alone in a car, in a secluded area. Does that mean there wouldn’t be civilians around? Who knows. But, they would’ve had better luck realizing there was a second shooter...instead of getting sandbagged by the second shooter hiding in the house. Were the cops right in bulldozing the house with one of their armored toys? Heck yeah. Once they let the situation go full-on fuster-cluck because of their poor tactics, heck yeah...level the home. I would even suggest that, once they lost control of the situation, all of their movements were right. They had to go in hard and heavy.

Also...if you nearly barfed at what I wrote previously, you need to see a doctor about your stomach. Because you ain’t got one.

Have they identified who the second shooter was?
