It would have been infinitely better if they could have arrested him someplace where he had less cover & access to weapons.

I saw this point being made yesterday. Good point.

A reply to this point was that if he was taken in a public place, his level of violence could have taken out civillians as well.

I don’t know any details about it, but kind of reminds me of Waco, where ATF wanted to stage a dramatic raid to arrest David Koresh & it ended up being a siege & a giant C.F.
