Gov. Kristi Noem has “no shot” at being Donald Trump’s running mate after revealing in a forthcoming book that she shot and killed her puppy, sources close to the 45th president tell The Post.
***
“She was already unlikely to be picked as VP, but had a shot,” the person said of Noem, who has been widely projected to be on Trump’s shortlist.
“After this, it’s just impossible.”
Noem writes, according to the Guardian, that she executed Cricket, a 14-month-old wirehaired pointer, after determining that the pooch’s “aggressive personality” made her “untrainable” as a hunting dog.
“It was not a pleasant job,” the 52-year-old recounts, “but it had to be done.”
*** “Trump isn’t a dog person necessarily,” “but I think he understands that you can’t choose a puppy killer as your pick, for blatantly obvious reasons.”
A second source told The Post that Trump “likes Kristi a lot,” but was “disappointed when hearing the ‘dog’ story. ***
Unfettered, Cricket attacked the family’s chickens, “grabb[ing] one chicken at a time, crunching it to death with one bite, then dropping it to attack another,” according to the governor.
When Noem tried to restrain the dog, Cricket “whipped around to bite me,” and was “the picture of pure joy” during the fowl-killing spree.
In the same excerpt, Noem described in graphic detail her killing a male goat who was “nasty and mean” because it was uncastrated, and “loved to chase” her children around.
To kill the goat, she “dragged him to the gravel pit” where she disposed of Cricket and had to shoot him repeatedly to finish the job.

“Look it up. Dogs are considered puppies up until they’re 2 years old”
Only for the very large dogs. Look it up.
kids are not dogs.
Many so called no kill shelters refuse to accept dangerous dogs. Or their stated policy is to kill them.
So then what do you do?
Of course not. In addition to rumors of her having an affair, there is this. She releases a story about herself shooting her 14 month old dog. uhh....how could you not realize that does not look good.
To those who want to argue that’s how its done in the country and blah blah blah....fine but you should know better than to come out with a story like that about yourself. A LOT of people are going to be really turned off by that. How is it that as a politician you don’t know that? That was just colossally bad judgment to put in a book about yourself.
Sorry, a dog that kills and attacks your other animals and snaps at humans, put it down. That’s not sociopathic, absolutely justified and responsible thing to do.
Why would you write about that. You can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat an animal.
No, Groucho Marx once shot an elephant in his pajamas.
How it got in his pajamas, he will never know.
Troublesome dogs can be controlled, especially in the city, if one has the will. I had a large and powerful boxer who was too conscious of his own prerogatives to be safe off-leash. He loved almost everyone, but around other large (un-neutered) male dogs and black men, he was volatile and apt to make trouble. (”He a gangsta!” is the admiring description one black dude applied, even as I held my boy on a very short leash.) I made sure he was firmly in hand whenever the occasion required, and he had a happy life until cancer took his life at the age of 9.
At a minimum, it’s sociopathic not to understand this is nothing to brag about.
proves that it ain’t actually that easy to kill something.
Goats are very stubborn
I was referring to Joe’s.
Or maybe just Joe.
If only our “ranchers” were half as committed to saving Christianity as they are to saving a rancher right to shoot his dog, this would be a kick ass country.
Now, if she had her dog for dinner à la Obama…
How many farmers/ranchers do you know? (And please list all of their attitudes toward Christianity.)
Regardless of one’s opinion about her shooting cricket, it has ruined her national aspirations. There’s no question of that.
I just don’t get what she thought the upside was of bringing up the story.
That's a damning indictment of the "american" electorate.
The point, lost in all the fuss and feathers, is that she is (or claims to be) capable of making hard decisions.
What the fuss and feathers reveals is that a critical mass of “americans” AREN’T capable of making hard decisions, or of respecting those who do.
