I increasingly feel that feminism has failed my generation. It is a peculiarity of the West that it is divided into sets which differ profoundly in their beliefs. This state of affairs began with the Reformation and has grown more pronounced ever since. There were Protestants and Catholics who differed fundamentally not only on faith but on practical matters. It was among Protestant communities that feminism first emerged, and it is in Protestant countries such as America and Britain in which feminist beliefs have been at their most vocal and strident in tone, like a religion with no dilution of agnosticism. Margaret Thatcher, though she would have denied it, was a feminist de facto, and no Catholic country could have produced her like.
. . .
Where, for instance, does it leave women like me, when we have reached the age of 54, as I have, and find ourselves both single and childless? Hugging the collected works of Proust, or engaging in furtive sojourns to the pub that bring remembrances of things pissed? One in 10 British women in their 50s have never married and live alone, which is neither pleasant nor healthy.

It has it's roots in the Cold War because many of the leadership were 1960s Radicals working on behalf of international communism to sow dissent and destabilize the West and Western Culture. They have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams
It was about creating a wedge issue in an admittedly male dominated society to try to mobilize and balkenize one half of the population to the Left's progressive agenda.
It was community organized by members of the Professional Left who made careers and a tons of money off the backs of the masses of women who they manipulated and whose lives they often ruined.
Now we are at the end game of the movement.
The actual behavior of the lunatics in the feminist movement pretty much validate many of the worst stereotypes of women.
Part of this bad behavior is a hatred and disdain for men that is making it difficult for many to have any kind of happy and meaningful relationship with a man or to raise a healthy family. Even the most strident of misogynists from the bad old days of the patriarchy would be shocked by what the behavior of modern feminists has devolved to. And so would most women - including many of the early feminists in the movement because this was not what they expected - and certainly not what they wanted.
In fact, like the woman who wrote this article, many women in their 50s and 60s are looking back and regretting what they have unleashed on society and how it has made their lives sad, lonely, empty and miserable.
Thank god for Golden Retrievers, Yorkies and most every breed of cat.
They should het sex changes and hang out in public restrooms.
They bought into the lie that is feminism, screeched when anyone pointed that out, and now complain because their lives are devoid of meaning, sacrificing a complete life with a family only to secure that coveted #3 HR position.
Rush nailed it when he said the roots of feminism lay in ugly women wanting to decrease the difference between their relative unattractiveness and the attractiveness of pretty women in order to increase the interest by men.
Abortion has its roots in making men more willing to sleep with ugly women by removing the consequences of pregnancy.
Being a handmaiden for Deep State is not feminist.
I’m a feminist.
Feminism is about equality of opportunity.
What Deep State inculcates is something far different.
The women keep the child(ren) and trash talk dad (look at all the ads showing dad as an idiot ESPECIALLY if he’s white). Mommy rules and Daddy drools. Then they get to take his wallet for 18-21 years usually quickly remarrying or hooking up with a walking wallet. At least this is what happened to my husband with his first leftist ex-shrew; he is definitely not alone in this (Parental Alienation). All three now adult children remain alienated; probably one of the more insidious forms of child abuse.
Margaret Thatcher?
That’s whom she’s blaming this on? Thatcher was a wife and mother. She was highly intelligent with a superior education. She didn’t become prime minister to prove that girls can do that she did it because that’s what she was good at. She had a husband. She helped Regan and Pope John Paul II win and put an end to the Cold War
Nothing to do with feminism.
Hear me roar.
You may be a feminist in terms of equality of opportunity, but leftist feminism is about increasing sexual opportunities for unattractive women by decreasing the differences between unattractive and attractive women.
It is why they will fight to the death for abortion. An ugly women, who can get an abortion, can use that to try to convince a more attractive man to.sleep with them.
To what end? If you took out all the many negative consequences of “feminism,” women still gravitate toward non-STEM careers in the “feeling” arts such as caseworker, therapist, teacher, etc. and men gravitate toward STEM and logic-based careers. As for careers in law, most women attorneys I know stink. Throw in Affirmative Action and you’ve got yourself a mess.
Gavin McInnes had a good point. In the days when women did the housework and men went to work, men would come home and tell his wife the high points of his day, such as a joke he heard or gossip. Women often had the impression that the work place was an all day party and compared the drudgery of home to that.
Of the women I know who genuinely love their husbands and families they seem the most happiest and fulfilled. Sometimes a man is just a bad egg to be married to but the modern women, those who have been poisoned with the lies of strident feminist ideology are their own worst enemies. A decent sane man wants no such leftist harpie.
Feminism isn’t at fault.
Deep State’s perversion of it is.
In essence you’re blaming the victim.
I remember reading some years ago of a feminist writer that encouraged career before family to get a head and delay having children.
It was revealed that she was in fact a work from from home mother with two or three young kids living at home.
Here we go...it’s all the Protestants’ fault!
We need an authentic feminism that doesn’t demand the killing of innocent defenseless children and the destruction of the traditional family.
1.73 billion children have been slaughtered just since 1980.
That number is a very conservative number, considering many states and countries do not report or even record the numbers and chemical abortion add a whole other dynamic.
That’s more people killed in ~43 years, than the number of people who have died in all of the world’s health epidemics and all of the world’s wars throughout all of our thousands of years of recorded history COMBINED.
