Buck: Speaker Johnson Has ‘Backbone,’ He Is on the Right Side of History
Breitbart ^ | 04/19/2024 | Pam Key

Posted on 04/19/2024 7:03:41 PM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Former Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) said Monday on CNN’s “OutFront” that Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) had “backbone” for advancing foreign aid funding in separate bills, which did not include border security funding as many in his caucus preferred.

Buck said, “I think Mike Johnson’s on the right side of history. And I think that Republicans and Democrats will rally around someone who is showing leadership on Capitol Hill. It is a rare commodity on Capitol Hill. Mike has the backbone to move forward with very important and controversial legislation. The vote should be to vote for or against this package, not to vote for or against the speaker if you don’t like this package, that is not something that should be happening. I think Mike survives.”

Notice how they totally avoid the Debt and the Economic Damage and burden.

Who’s going to be on the right side of history for wrecking future generations?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the first two posts of a thread removed prior to this one. They must have been pretty interesting. I probably agreed with everything that they said.

The Freedom Caucus has fewer than 50 members. Until you/we find a way to multiply that about 5 times, the only way to get anything we think is important passed into law is to work with the existing Republican members of Congress.

Successful politics is a team sport. That’s just reality.

If he has a backbone, shouldn’t he at least explain to his detractors why he didn’t insist on HR2 as a condition of foreign aid. Obviously he has been shown something that has convinced him to sell out the country and keep the borders open. Mr. Backbone needs to tell us what he saw… or now knows that he did not previously know…. Regarding immigration.

Why....Cuz we don't have the Senate and the Whitehouse and Schumer will not bring it to the floor. It simply isn't going to happen.

In the meantime....Israel, a most loyal ally needs help...Ukraine hangs on their tail...and Taiwan and the chips own us.

It's about being real.

There’s a reason this bill is having such trouble passing. The American taxpayer doesn’t want it passed!

Israel doesn’t need us, Ukraine isn’t any ally and it is breaking us and if China wants Taiwan they will take it without a shot fired.

Those are not our problems. The leftist tyranny, the border, and the woke is our problem and you and Mike Cuck Johnson aren’t worried about that apparently.

Your ideas of real are unreal.

Thank you. Americans need to stand up and get angry. We need to quit putting all our false hopes entirely on elections because elections are no longer legit.

"I presume he saw the opportunity to seize the moment, sell out his side..."

That seems to be the norm with Congresssional Republicans these days. I won't be voting for my GOP Rep. in November. He's running for his second term, and has voted regularly to send money to Ukraine, voted for the last expenditure Bill, and voted twice this past week to keep FISA.

I agree with you, but isn’t passing HR2 keeping it real too? Seriously, if they need all this money for Ukraine and Israel, insisting that we defend our borders first is not unreasonable. In fact, it makes complete sense to normal people. Johnson needs to explain to us normals why the power structure in DC is so against having enforcible border laws. This was our leverage (as you pointed out, we needed to fund Ukraine and Israel) to finally get something done and he threw it away. I just want to know why.

Is it because the illegal drug economy plays more of a role in our GDP than we generally know? Is it because our politicians are owned by the cartel, China, Google? Do they have video of congressmen doing crude things? Johnson owes us an explanation.

Trump, for all his craziness, would not sell us down the road like that. That’s why voters put up with him.

The House has passed HR2 in May of 2023. It was sent to the Senate and Cruz introduced it. Many co-sponsors including McConnell.

It's a realistic, comprehensive bill and you can read it on line. It includes completing the wall.

Schumer will not bring it up for a vote. In the meantime, the House can't say...until the Senate passes it and Biden signs it...nothing will get done.

You have to go after Schumer and Biden...and they can simply do what they're doing on HR2....nothing.
