Yes, but when I was in retail, we encouraged people to feel the clothes so they’ll want to take them to the dressing rooms to try on. And yes, occasionally we found a piece of goods with whatever on them. The mirrors were another whole issue. LOL!

When I was in jewelry, it was different, of course. The customer had to wait for us to get the pieces for them to look at. However, we spent HOURS cleaning fingerprints and even children’s lick-prints [ack!!...some parents!] off the display cases.

If I visited that museum, I’d find it hard not to want to touch those wonderful pieces that our troops used to keep us safe and free! To feel their presence.

A very pleasant good Thursday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country.

Yesterday at Wichita Ridge:

How's everyone doing this morning?

It's pretty much expected that people will handle clothing when they shop.

But people should keep hands off glass cases. It looks nasty when the next person wants to look at whatever is on display. It's a pet peeve.

And you don't touch items in any museum unless you're told you can. That's just common sense. We have some things roped off but the cannons are large and there's really no way to rope them off. Not much room for that.

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

Nice to see you and Gizmo had a pretty day before the weather goes south. Gizmo’s happy face says he approved.

Wow! Someone has spent some time getting that brass all polished up. No wonder you want people to keep their mitts off them! They look great.

Yes, we practically lived with a Windex bottle and paper towel in hand at the jewelry stores I worked at. We tried to wait till people left before wiping up after them so as not to seem rude, but sometimes it was tempting to spray them with the Windex. LOL!

LOL Yeah, it’s some work to polish the entire barrel. When the owner was doing Civil War re-enactments, they’d get dirty. He had a couple of teen guys who did the cleaning.
The cannon’s were a little dirty when he first took them to the museum and he sent one of the guys there to clean them the next weekend. He was there for a few hours and he worked non-stop.
I only have to clean the prints off, fortunately.

I wasn’t tempted to spray people with Windex. The temptation I had/have to fight is smacking their hands like you would a toddler. “NO!!” LOL

That was one of the options. LOL!

I guess I’d better head out. Short nap today and I’m getting pretty sleepy. I’ve had more energy today, so that’s a good thing. See ya tomorrow? Or will Friday be opening day? Not sure what happens on opening weekend. :)

Yep, I think we may be able to get one more nice day before things go south for the weekend. We’ll see.

Glad your energy is coming back. I was a little worried.

I haven’t paid attention to the clock and I need to head out too. I’m getting up a little earlier than usual tomorrow in hopes I’ll be able to go to sleep early tomorrow night. All the talk about opening is about Saturday but Freddy said he’s going to be there Friday. It’ll be just me and him but I doubt many people will show up. We can handle it. We’ve done it before several times over the years.
Museum schedule starts this week so Thursday and Friday nights, the computer will be off. Too many rabbit holes and I’ll never go to sleep early. LOL

Sleep well. Catch ya Saturday.

Great! Make the most of it.
They say it’ll be a wild and wooly day here, then get pretty cool through the weekend.
