In 1992, Democratic presidential nominee Bill Clinton famously answered a voter question about how the national debt affected him personally. Mr. Clinton’s response was often paraphrased as, “I feel your pain.”
Whether Mr. Clinton was for once being sincere or not, his words resonated.
Now President Biden is running for re-election with the opposite message: Stop complaining. Everything is going great. Some of his sycophants in Congress and his stooges in the press are now complaining that the problem isn’t Mr. Biden’s failed policies, it’s that Americans are just too stupid to understand how good things are today.
Gail Collins of the New York Times recently groused, “I know politicians aren’t supposed to lecture people about how great their lives are, but it’s weird that the nation doesn’t seem more conscious of how well things are going. … Prices have generally stabilized or begun to drop.”

How would things be even a single ounce materially different if G.W. Bush had been elected versus Bill Clinton?
I have spent my entire adult life voting for the lesser of two evils, apparently.
Doubt they would have been much different.
Uniparty is ALWAYS Uniparty.
As we have discovered.
Indeed.
For me, at least I recognized neither GWB or Bill Clinton was going to be good.
Bill Clinton’s superpower was that he could “feel your pain” genuinely while simultaneously, not giving a Tinker’s Damn about your pain!
That is a real trick...
If only Perot hadn’t run at all.
If only Bush stuck to “Read My Lips!” and didn’t look at his watch.
“Unlike Bill Clinton, Who Claimed ‘I Feel Your Pain,’ Biden’s Economic Message Is: Stop Complaining”
Biden’s messaging is “The economy is fantastic, you ingrates are only imagining the pain”.
No wonder Trump is beating him in the polls.
Whenever you can figure out Biden’s halting mumbling campaign
message you find out he’s telling us to, “ Stop complaining. Everything is going great.”
Biden’s cockamamie policies arent the problem....it’s that Americans are just too stupid
to understand how good Biden has made things for us ........is his campaign strategy.
The fix was in. Bush knew it and didn’t care. That way his kid could win in eight years, after his adopted son, Bill governed for a while. It’s all uniparty gooberism.
“I have spent my entire adult life voting for the lesser of two evils, apparently.”
Millions of us have; no other choice. Except for Reagan and Trump...
Funny...I was going to expand on that statement I made in the same way you did, but...decided not to!
‘Stop complaining’ is even worse then ‘put on a sweater’ (Carter)
