Judge Juan Merchan on Tuesday accused Trump of intimidating a juror who admitted she posted a pro-Biden video to her Facebook page.
Jury selection was still underway on Tuesday in the Stormy Daniels ‘hush money’ trial after more than 50 prospective jurors were dismissed from the jury pool on Monday.
One potential juror was brought in for questioning after Trump’s lawyers discovered she posted a pro-Biden celebratory video in 2020.
“You had to get in the car to spread the honking cheer. it’s a full on dance party at 96th street,” the potential juror’s caption read according to Trump attorney Todd Blanche.
President Trump was allegedly gesturing and ‘audibly speaking in the direction of the potential juror’ while she was being questioned about her pro-Biden social media post.
Judge Merchan accused Trump of intimidating the juror.
“I won’t tolerate that. I will not have any jurors intimidated in this courtroom. I want to make that crystal clear,”
The left-wing, pro-Biden juror claimed she is capable of being impartial.
“I very, very strongly believe that regardless of my thoughts about anyone or anything political, feelings or convictions, that the job of a juror is to understand the facts of a trial and to be the judge of those facts,” the juror said, according to CNN.
Judge Merchan said the left-wing juror gave “reasonable explanations” for the pro-Biden Facebook videos and rejected a request from Trump’s attorneys to dismiss her from the jury pool.

Each side has three pre-emptory challenges, which they can use for any reason without disclosing the reason, to dismiss a juror. Each side has an unlimited number of challenges for cause, which requires “good cause” to dismiss the juror, such as a personal relationship with the judge, an attorney, prosecutor, defendant, or witness; objective bias; disability, etc.
After the Trump team uses up its 3 "Preemptory" strikes. the remaining 17 have to be founded on "good cause" (see above) And guess who gets to determine that.
Unfortunately, that appeal won’t be decided until AFTER the election.
A trial in North Korea would be far more fair than this.
Bragg is a local DA, having nothing to do with federal
law violations. He’s a hard core Democrat.
Merchan is a judge (that I believe) has a family conflict
connected to the party in some way. It’s on the record
that he is a big democrat party supporter.
The laws Trump was supposed to have broken are all
misdemeanors, whose statutes of limitations all ran out.
The only way the case could continue was for the DA to
overreach and use federal laws. It’s very tenuous if
they actually apply.
Now Jury members are democrat supporters. These are
not Trump’s peers. I realize that there will always
be democrats out there and on general topics, it doesn’t
matter that much. On political topics, it matters a
great deal.
This is the third trial where I expect to see all
charges evaporate upon appeal. I wouldn’t be at
all surprised if sanctions are level against the
DAs and Judges. (I sure hope so... and deservedly so)
Meanwhile this judge is going to punish Trump as much
as he possibly can before a verdict. Has to attend
every day, can’t campaign, and perhaps won’t be able
to attend a lifetime marker event for his son.
All three cases so far have massive flaws.
All these charges were combed over in recent years by
several different entities, and they all refused to
bring charges against Trump, they were so benign.
Allowed to dismiss 10 with no reason.
But the judge is above the law.
I don’t think it’ll matter. The more they go after Trump the more I see people leaving Biden.
No each side can refuse a certain number of jurors for any reason, but that number is not unlimited.
...while GOD is not.
