“America’s Navy values diversity, equality and inclusivity,” the woke Navy leadership claims. “We believe that when a diverse group of individuals come together to do a job, they can do it better because of their differences.”
The Year of Hate helped accelerate the woke destruction of the US Navy.
Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Michael Gilday announced that he wanted to change the Navy. While the title of the video of his remarks was “One Team, One Navy”, its divisive message was that the Navy was racist and only “conversations” about race would help.
Gilday “shared” videos of naval personnel claiming that America was racist and that they were angry. “Being African-American in America is not fun,” an aviation technician claimed.
A lieutenant commander claimed that he had experienced “systemic racism” and “implicit bias”. A white corpsman urged that “we can stand up for change” and declared that, “tomorrow’s Navy will finally stand on the right side of history when we realize that black lives matter.”
“I have become very aware of my privilege as a white person,” a female musician confessed. Then she claimed that “this country has a history of systemic racism” and called for creating a “country that is more equitable and just.”
The video closed with Gilday vowing to eliminate “systemic racism” with a new task force.
How’s that working out? The “diverse group of individuals” can’t seem to get anything done beyond DEI sessions.
The Navy’s top admiral and civilian secretary have still not responded to questions about a damning Navy report released Tuesday outlining the sweeping failure of the Navy and its industrial partners to make expected progress on two submarine programs, an aircraft carrier and a new class of frigates.
The delays, from one to three years each depending on the program, come as the Navy and Pentagon pour billions into modernizing and upgrading shipyards in an attempt to build and repair ships more quickly and keep pace with China. Beijing’s navy has already surpassed the U.S. in size.
The revelations came in a one-page fact sheet the Navy put together outlining the findings of Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro’s 45-day shipbuilding study which he ordered in January. Neither Del Toro or the service’s top officer, Adm. Lisa Franchetti, released a statement or commented on the report, which shows a total of 11 years worth of delays across the affected programs.
Two classes of nuclear-powered submarines lead the list of delays, one of which will be the main carrier of the nation’s sea-based nuclear missiles.
Aware of the issues for years, the Navy is still unsure how to fix them.
“We don’t have detailed plans of action, milestones, initiatives — we are identifying and deeply looking into where we are now in a ‘get real, get better’ approach,” Nickolas Guertin, the Navy’s senior acquisition executive, told reporters at the Pentagon on Tuesday after unveiling the results of the Navy-ordered 45-day study.
“We found that we have issues that need to be resolved,” he said. “But we don’t have all those things completely nailed down yet.”
More videos about systemic racism should do it. And diversity. Diversity can fix anything.
We may no longer have a US Navy capable of taking on China, but at least everyone is respecting everyone else’s pronouns.
As my post just above indicates, I believe it is all tied together. I don’t believe it is one thing or the other in this case (or any other case for that matter).
President Bush rewarded Italy’s support in the Gulf War with a contract for the Army’s small arms. It was worth a lot. Congress went ballistic. Can you imagine what Congress would do if we tried to buy foreign made ships? By the way, the Spanish Empire bought their cannons from Brittain. In retrospect, probably not a good idea. The British on purpose built a couple of dozen types for each Spanish ship, requiring a nightmare logistics effort to supply them. For their navy they built, if recall, three types call them, small, medium and large.
Our shipbuilding problems are entirely manufactured. There’s the Green movement and their lawyers. There are the astroturf rentamob protestors. There are federal, state and local regulations. Then there’s labor unions. There’s political infighting that might give the great sea state of Omaha a contract for destroyers. Then there’s all the pages of crap at the end of every government contract that’s about DEI, ESG, banning cadmium, banning chromium, and insisting on a gay/lesbian/trans outreach program.
Years ago, my company was bidding on an Australian navy contract. The contract said we would use zero Australian labor. When I asked why we were told that there were too many labor strikes and walkouts and using Australian labor would result in delays.
Working for Honeywell I needed some PC’s. The company had a policy that we only bought Honeywell products. They had no competing product. So, no PC’s. I bought the PC’s by buying individual pieces that were totally not computers and having a contractor assemble them and set them up. Three times the price. What we’re trying to do is circumvent the problems we ourselves have developed. It will cost three times the price of just biting the bullet and fighting the good fight.
I asked out contracting office how we could get rid of the pages of crap in our contract that individual congressmen had put in. He said, “the President would have to use his power directly on every contract and it would cost him support in Congress.”
It’s becoming apparent that the proper functioning of modern high tech societies depends on a critical mass of highly competent people in key positions. When those people are replaced by mediocre individuals hired on the basis of appearance, things begin to fall apart. As those mediocre people are promoted (for the same reasons they were hired), they only hire others less competent than they are. At that point things fall apart VERY quickly. That’s where we are today.
COVID.
It’s hard.
The “Navy” doesn’t build ships. Private contractors do. The focus on delay needs to start there.
Certainly this DIE crap isn’t helping the Navy, but it’s not responsible for the problem discussed. Now, if we want to talk about maintaining and operating ships that’s a valid discussion.
LOL
We could have China build them for us. We can pick them up at the local Costco that’s closest to a naval pier.
Remember in Basic Training when the focus was on respecting our differences?
( no, neither do I)
“We believe that when a diverse group of individuals come together to do a job, they can do it better because of their differences.”
That right there is a prime example of a meaningless phrase containing no logic, intelligence, rigor, or purpose. It does pretend a lot, however. It is produced by those who struggle to gain two IQ points...otherwise known as “studies” majors.
I’m sure Biden will continue to see DEI as the more important initiative than overcoming the delays.
The Navy doesn’t build ships, but they develop the specifications, they have experts review designs and they manage progress evaluations. And they pass their DEI expectations to the contractors.
Austin must be constantly shaking this toady Gilday off his leg and pulling his tongue out of his ear.
Amen.
I served aboard a destroyer with different races. We got along just fine. I don’t recognize the military anymore.
Take that, Putin!!!! We don’t need no navy because WE ARE AMERICA, and therefore WE ARE INVINCIBLE!!!
Reminds me of the joke about the drill sergeant on race: “In the Army, there is only one color and that color is green. Now, I want all you dark green soldiers to line up here…”
The US Navy and Pentagon pour billions of tax dollars into modernizing and upgrading
shipyards in an attempt to build and repair ships more quickly and keep pace with China.
Yet, Beijing’s navy has already surpassed the U.S. in size.
The Year of Hating Whitey helped accelerate the “woke” destruction of the US Navy.“America’s Navy values diversity, equality and inclusivity,” the woke Navy leadership claims. “We believe that when a diverse group of individuals come together to do a job, they can do it better because of their differences.”
Now everybody in the Navy “respect’s” each other’s pronouns
..... But They Can’t Figure Out How to Build Ships.
This is not by accident.
It is intentional.
People who are given positions of power simply for being a particular race, religion, political party or ethnic minority, will fail at that position.
Choosing a characteristic over character is never a good decision.
People will get killed....................
“We don’t have detailed plans of action, milestones, initiatives — we are identifying and deeply looking into where we are now...”
[This Guy throws up in his mouth a little bit...]
👍👍
Whaddya have for ESG?
