I’m a guy and hardly a fashion expert. So, please take this with more than a few grains of salt.
I think Melania as a First Lady was classic.
I think Jill Biden is being dressed in drapes or upholstery. It’s awful.

She still looks fine and classic to me in that picture.

Ok, here’s a small difference. Melania has the fashion sense to wear her florals on her bottom half, and not across her entire body. Jill has zero fashion sense. I will agree that Melania has shown us many, many beautiful outfits, and this may not be her *best*, but it’s still a far cry from anything Jill has worn.
Also, Ivanka is a clothing designer, and if I had her as a consultant, I would listen all day long. I have a blouse designed by Ivanka, and I get massive compliments every time I wear it. Every time! It’s floral, but so delicate. It has a funny story behind the purchase if anyone ever wants to hear it, though I doubt anyone does.
I say all this as a woman who wears jeans pretty much every day of the week, but that’s because they’re comfortable and look good on me (or so my husband says), and I don’t stray from my casual wear without asking advice from others when it’s an important event.
I can tell you what doesn’t look good, and that’s pretty much everything I’ve ever seen Jill Biden wear. She should ask Michelle for tips. Wouldn’t that be a hoot?
I was also quite surprised to see this, and I suspect that when Melania sees the pictures, she also will wonder what she’d been thinking.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that..I’m female and not a fashion expert either. I don’t know what it would be appropriate for - I think I’d leave it in the closet.
