“We do appear to be getting closer and closer to last call.”
Close, but not quite close enough yet. It’s going to be a very bumpy ride first.
Half of Maine lost power during the two most recent snow/wind/ice storms. Since “green” sources won’t be producing power during such events, the downing of power lines won’t matter.
Note to New England: For a preview of your upcoming economic disaster, see NYS.
Wait till they have no power - they will be screaming for coal plants
*** power plants in New England ***
Tells me nothing. What Power Pool is this and is it interconnected with other power pools around it that will not shut down their coal fired plants.
I am connected with the SPP and there are lots of coal cars hauling coal to the AEP and plants farther south in other states. Most of Texas has it’s own power pool, ERCOT.
Reminds me of the old Texas Bumper sticker.
“DRIVE LIKE HE*L! FREEZE A YANKEE!”
New Hampshire and Vermont got a foot of snow a couple of days ago.
Next winter will probably set records for cold in New England.
In New England?
Baby it’s cold outside.
Stupid to believe the ComDem Green Lies.
Without gas to keep people warm, the next thing desperate people will start to burn wood and clear cut a bunch of trees, for firewood, which will freak out the liberals.
Oh, THEY’LL have (exemptions) power; we just won’t.
New England’s last coal plants set to shutter, ushering in era of green energy, and rolling brownouts and blackouts.
What fuel will keep them warm during the Winter?

Their neighbors’ wood lot ...
With at least 4X the population the number is nearer 100 milion
Before I retired, I made a pretty good living off of commissioning new power plants. Dependent on the type of equipment employed, I made the most at Coal fired plants, followed by nuclear (upgrades), followed by gas fired. Good thing I retired!

But now once the power lines are fixed there will be no power in them. The only people in Maine with power will be the huge number of Chinese pot farms.
That's what I was thinking myownself.
What is needed is a self contained compact Nuclear unit the size of a semi trailer running on degraded waste nuclear material from nuclear power plants. Local power.
