Technically, crime surged in 2020 under Trump. And technically, certain crimes have slightly decreased under Biden. However, the Democrats have caused this and Biden should be blamed.

Several major US cities have admitted in the past decade....they don’t pass their statistical numbers to the state or federal level. Even if a mayor says ‘x’ amount of violent crime....you’d have to drag in the police themselves to provide the actual data.

Obviously crimes that become national news will make it look like crime is higher.
The reason crime has not sky rocketed is because the definition and thus the reality of crime has been redefined.
No action by any Black person is ever a crime. By definition, there can be no crime committed by Black persons. Therefore there is no crime committed.
Removing merchandise from a retail store without paying for it is not a crime. Using a hand gun purchased from off market sources to kill a human is not murder. The act is merely a permissible Post Birth Abortion an as such certainly not a criminal act.
I have noticed when I see an article with a Statement similar to - “crime has skyrocketed” “Gun owners increasingly distrust” and then a two or three word retort like “It hasn’t” or “Here’s Why” you are about to be lied to.
It doesn’t matter what the topic is either. It is the smart-ass, know it all columnist superiority oozing from the column headline that is a sure tipoff to the slime content within. Within the article and also within the author.
If you dont prosecute crime, the stats are gonna look like it has gone down. Just another dim-0 trick using stats. Stats can prove anything according to how they are presented.

In some cases I can believe crime has fallen - particularly in places where the victims never returned to the killing fields post-COVID. Years ago Camden NJ was a very dangerous place, then the crime fell - the unreported angle of the story was that massive tracts of the city were no longer inhabited. Detroit is probably safer that it was 30 years ago - so many people (criminals and victims) left.
That dynamic is probably now appearing in NYC; dangerous as Hell, but with far fewer people.
So the way to reduce crime is to allow more criminals in the country and let more of them out on the street from jails?
That is against all logic.
