There is nothing remotely normal or conventional about this presidential election. Alice in Wonderland would feel right at home bouncing about between the fantastical issues plaguing the Biden and Trump campaigns.
For the current president, voters worry about Biden’s age, perceived cognitive issues, his son Hunter’s legal and perception problems, growing policy failures, and a country and world going more sideways by the day. For the previous president, it’s hard for some voters to unsee the FBI raid on Trump’s home in Florida, his mug shot, multiple indictments by Democratic prosecutors and district attorneys, trial dates and the greater “lawfare” campaign being purposefully amplified by some in the media. With that as background, it is no surprise that approximately 70 percent of voters indicate they do not want Biden or Trump as their next president. Enter — stage middle — Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Shanhan apparently the first oriental woman with an Irish name to be selected as a presidential running mate.
I get the non-politician angle but still find it very uninspiring.
I like RFK jr well enough but his vp is a nobody (even if she’s rich). A game charger would be if he got Taylor Swift.
It goes to the House. And by that time it will be democrat controlled. So the House would select Biden or whoever is the democrat.
Kennedy will take more votes from Biden rather than Trump. The only thing to worry about is if Kennedy gets enough of the vote preventing Trump from getting enough electoral votes and the election gets thrown into the House.
Anybody who starts with a shoutout to the Indians about “stolen land” isn’t entering “stage middle.”
And no, the guy who sounds like a bad imitation of Katharine Hepburn isn’t any kind of a “game changer.”
I hate it too get to the damn point. The Hill is worse than the stinkin’ linkin’ project
We’re aligning for a repeat of the election of 1860.
Or the rotted corpse of Margaret Sanger.
>>Absolutely. The guy turned out to be just another left wing whore.
Sure, but having left-wing whores split the vote in the November would be a good thing.
My guess is that Trump will select a woman too.
It’s a bomb tossed on the Biden campaign and basically negates the possibility the Trump will lose significant percentages to RFK.
I think this guy overstates this by leaps and bounds, but it is definitely clear that with this pick, There is no doubt Kennedy is going to pull more from Biden than Trump.
The Democrats are absolutely in a panic today, and its pretty clear to see why.
At this point they need to keep Kennedy off the debate stage, he’s polling nationally in some polls as high as 12%.. if he gets to 15% he makes the debate stage, and if he makes the debate stage, then Biden will be lucky if he gets 30% in the general, which will cost Democrats HUGE down ballot.
IF Kennedy does make it onto the debate stage, you can forget the white house, which was a long shot at best for the walking potato anyway, but democrats will end be facing decimation downballot.
The “straight party” ticket won’t happen, and that means a lot of folks who would have showed up and just done that for Biden... will show up to vote for RFK, so they will have to actually go down the ballot and actually individually check for each race, and I guarantee you, that will cost the dems a few points down ballot easily and they know it.
More of the It may be bad for Biden and Trump but it’s really bad for Trump bullcrap. Which means that the left is really scared and knows better
This progressive left wing nut job will underscore that Kennedy is, was and always will be a liberal Democrat. He is the alternative to Biden for Democrats who are concerned about Biden’s cognitive condition. Few Republicans, except the worst of the Never Trumpers, who won’t be voting for Trump anyway, will fall for the Kennedy as an independent nonsense. This apple has not fallrn far from the Ted Kennedy tree,
” approximately 70 percent of voters indicate they do not want Biden or Trump as their next president.”
70 % of voters asked were Hillary Staffers or NeverTrumpers.
So, no surprises there.
She bought her way on to the ticket...
In 1992, Ross Perot got almost 19% of the vote and didn’t win a single state. Not only that … he only finished in SECOND place in one state (Maine).
He was never a serious candidate.
Ding Ding Ding...
RFK up til this selection pretty much offering similar populist arguments that Trump has.. his terminology was different, but his message was the same.
Trump say “swamp creatures”.. RFK says “captive agencies”... but they are talking about the same general concept.
Government isn’t working for you, because its corrupt, and I’ll fight it. RFK with this choice however, kind of damages his brand in the eyes of anyone with right leaning tendencies who would have been open to him previously, because how can you possibly fight the system, if your running mate is a well known left wing donor who’s helped to corrupt the system?
RFK will get play, but I think this choice definitely puts the target squarely on Biden as to where hes going to draw most of his votes from.
As I stated elsewhere, democrats are going to just go all out trying to destroy RFK now, because, he’s already polling around 12% in some polls, and if he hits 15% he’s on the debate stage, and if he makes it to the debate stage, Biden will be lucky to see 30% of the vote totals on election day...
This will make any chance of Potato winning off the table (which it for the most part is anyway, but this absolutely cements the deal) and with RFK drawing heavily from Biden’s pool it makes democrats desperate in the down ballot... because someone who is more left leaning, is more likely to just pull the straight party ticket in states that have this... Well, with Kennedy being their choice for president the straight party vote is OFF THE TABLE, meaning those folks will need to vote for RFK and then individually vote for every other race... and guarantee that on its own will cost the democrats a point or two in down ballot races, because many won’t do it.
NOt sure what states still have the straight party option, but ones that do, the dems there are going to lose at least point or two from the totals they would have gotten had RFK not been on the ballot.
Honestly the Democrats pushing the Potato over RFK tells you all you need to know... I say this as a 100% all in Trump supporter... If RFK had been the nominee, the Democrats would cake walk to the white house this fall... The fact they drove him out tells you all you need to know about what’s really going on in the Uniparty.
