House Oversight and Accountability Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) suggested the impeachment vote against President Biden may not be the “best path” and said he instead thinks criminal referrals will be the way to go.
“I believe that the best path to accountability is criminal referrals,” Comer told Newsmax hosts Thursday.
The Oversight Committee held a hearing Wednesday on the impeachment inquiry into Biden. Democrats pressured Republicans to identify the criminal conduct underlying their probe, as doubts rise about the future of the investigation into the president’s business dealings.
Comer argued in the interview that “real accountability” for Biden now looks like “providing real criminal referrals to the Department of Justice,” because the Democratic-controlled Senate would likely table any impeachment into Biden “like they’re gonna do with the Merrick Garland impeachment.”

The democrats impeached Trump, knowing it would not pass the Senate, strictly for the smear effect.
The Republicans are either too stupid or cowardly to fight. Whereas the democrats had nothing on Trump, the Republicans could use the impeachment to expose Biden’s treason to the nation.

It could be that they are continuing the impeachment because it gives them more subpoena power. If no formal impeachment procedure, they couldn’t do anything.

The position that impeaching Crime Boss Joey is THE ONLY way any benefit comes from these investigations is extremely naïve.
That leads to saying since “nothing” will happen continuing them is not worth the effort.

Why would Comer move to impeach Joey when there is no chance of convicting him?
Chuckie has already tipped his hand with the Mayorkas impeachment - which was a perfect head fake by the Republicans.
He has unconstitutionally refused to try Mayorkas – stonewalling the process and ending all investigations into Mayorkas’ criminal conduct.
If somehow Mike Johnson could get a bill of impeachment passed what would happen?
Chuckie would say, “Thank you suckers,” and put it into the same draw as the Mayorkas impeachment and all investigations into Crime Boss Joey would stop six months before the election.
But by NOT impeaching Crime Boss Joey and letting the rodent run Senate try him what happens?
NOTHING.
The much better way to go is for Comer to keep trying Joey in the court of public opinion where there is only one side - our side presenting evidence.
In the court of public opinion there are no Soros appointed DAs that will roll over - there are no rodent judges that will act as defense lawyers- there are no judges to intimidate - there are no witnesses to intimidate - there is no way to destroy evidence and there is no way for the communist media to talk about, and lie, to “defend” Joey without reminding the jury, which is the American public, of how guilty he really is.
Comer will keep finding “new” evidence that HAS to be investigated and he will drag this out for every bit of benefit he can get for us.
Remember because of these investigations we just learned the CIA has been running cover for Dollar Hunter.

A February 9, 2023, story (when only a tiny fraction of the criminality of Joey was known) showed 19% of all voters would have voted “differently” in 2020 had they been allowed to know what was in Dollar Hunter’s LAPTOP which has now been conclusively verified as real.

Hunter never appeared for the hearing on 3/20/24 when Bobulinski testified. That’s the one that I wondered if he was subpoenaed for...that’s what the empty chair was for at the table.
It doesn’t appear that he was subpoenaed for the 3/20/24 hearing. All articles online say that he and Devon Archer were both INVITED and both declined...That empty chair beside Bobulinski was for Hunter Biden.

Nope. Any of your links should have been referred for indictment. They weren’t. Both Comer & Jordan have been shooting from the lip about how simple this would be and how quickly they’d get there. They’re not even sure they have the Republican votes to impeach. And there was never any way they’d have enough votes in the Senate. But I don’t think removal was the goal. They wanted Biden to enjoy the stain of impeachment.

I read a couple articles about that hearing. None of them made any mention of a subpoena to Hunter Biden. I can’t say for sure whether he was subpoenaed, but if he had been, it’s likely that the Republicans would have been making a stink about noncompliance. So my guess is no subpoena.
They did subpoena him for an earlier hearing, and he testified for several hours. Are there limits on subpoenas? Can a Congressional committee keep issuing subpoenas and demanding that the same witness appear over and over and over? If so, could the Democrats running a Senate committee do that to Republicans?
I missed the part in the Constitution where you couldn’t impeach a President, but you could arrest them and throw the in jail.

Criminal referrals does sound like a more workable idea it takes the good old boy club out of the vote arena.
It has more evidence to get the job done draw up the papers now.
If true, it is likely that a supeona for this hearing wasn’t needed because Hunter had agreed to show up for the hearing. It was expected that he would be there and he was a last minute no-show.
I imagine a subpoena is good for only one cause and they would have needed a new one - different subject...
Hunter is just like his dad - manages to mess up everything he touches...literally!!! He and his attorney insisted on a public hearing. They got it and he refused to show...I don’t know how anyone watching the hearing AND paying attention could have missed that Hunter and his dad were involved in payoffs; influence peddling with big, big bucks involved...
Just watching and listening to Bobulinski at that hearing was worth the time I spent watching....He’s a pretty sharp cookie - quick on the uptake and comeback; former military officer, Navy, I think and successful businessman.
When he started to read his statement, he asked if he should read his before Hunter Biden and pointed to the empty seat without a glimmer of a smile.
He had several back and forths with that creep Goldman from NY...a very nasty man. I thought Raskin was nasty but Goldman has him beat. Toward the end of the hearing, I think it was Comer who said, “That’s ok. We don’t listen to Congressman Goldman either.” I think it was directed after Bobulinski said, “he wasn’t listening to me”. AND he WASN’T...It was just about when people were getting up from their chairs and preparing to leave so I don’t know how many heard him. Priceless!

Republicans undertook this Biden inquiry to shut us up. Nothing was ever supposed to come of it.

There are no good guys in Congress to speak of. Maybe one or two like Luna sneak through, but they’re kept powerless.
It was definitely something his attorney had asked for and it was granted. I don’t doubt it came off exactly as planned. “let them hold a hearing, saying we’ll attend and we’ll leave them high and dry.” Big mistake. They should have issued a subpoena anyway just to be on the safe side. They should have expected he and his attorney would pull that stunt. Nothing like thumbing your nose big time at a Congressional committee...Hope this committee and all others will have learned a lesson when it comes to expecting anything good to come from a Biden.

Very good but there’s also Bobulinski’s opening statement and testimony from 3/20/24. He answered every question directly that was asked of him - as directly as ALLOWED!!! A treasure trove of information...
