Actually it is not the shortest way out of Russia. Many other countries are closer to Moscow.

Putin is trying too hard. If somebody really could drive from Ukraine, shoot up a target in Moscow and just drive back home then Moscow would have fallen to Ukraine months ago.

Anyone with access to a map sees they were on the M3 highway to Ukraine, not Belarus, LiarMaximum.

Anyone who spent five minutes looking at the footage released by the Russian government would know that the traffic stop happened on a tiny forest road heading to Belarus.

Anyone with a brain would realize that cars full of armed men can't just drive from Ukraine to Moscow, shoot up a target, and drive back to Ukraine on the largest highway. Russia has lousy security (see the Wagner revolt) but not that bad.

Putin is going to try to use the Islamic terror attack to his advantage, but Russians in Moscow already know that the Tajiks Putin has allowed to settle there are a problem.

"Alexander Bortnikov, director of Russia's main intelligence agency the FSB, informed Putin that 11 people had been arrested including four people involved in the attack at the venue on Friday, state news agency TASS reported.

State-media outlets did not immediately name any of the suspects. However, the identities of six suspects, who were allegedly nationals of Tajikistan, ranging in age from 19 to 51, were named and pictured on Russian Telegram channels.

The suspects were named as Faizov Rivozhidin Zokirdzhonovich, Ismoilov Rivozhidin Islomovich, Faizov Muhammad-Sobir Zokirdzhonovich, Nasramailov Makhamadrasul Zarabidinovich Nasramailov, Safolzoda Shohinjon Abdugaforovich and Nazarov Rustam Isroilovich."
