Donald Trump claimed he has half a billion dollars in cash in series of furious posts on Truth Social ahead of the deadline to pay the $454million New York fraud fine.
The former president didn't mention paying the bond and insisted that a 'substantial amount' of the huge haul of money was set aside for his campaign.
He also hinted that New York Attorney General Letitia James and Judge Engoron chose the huge fine to stop him running for president.

I bet his lawyers are going to invoke the 8th amendment when they start seizing his properties and file suit.

Let them go ahead and try seizing his assets. The optics will be terrible and will only make people more determined to vote for Trump in November.
By the way, we are essentially in a Civil War. Not even kidding about that. The Deep State will apparently stop at nothing to prevent Trump from getting the presidency back.

Let them sieze his property, let them destroy it.
Let the Nation and the World see how NY State does business.
Then, take the Judge, State, and AG to Federal Court for violation of his 4th and 8th Amendment rights. When he wins, sue the State of NY for Election interference and personal injury, from violation of Constitutional rights and Election interference. Let the NY State Employees watch their pension funds dissolve to pay off Trump and the GOP.

As a business owner and developer on a much smaller scale, I would say based on the size of his holdings that is not an over abundance of cash reserves. And certainly would cause serious business disruption to depleate it by 90%.

Agreed. The optics of seizing property will be a disaster for NYC and the red tape will probably drag out for a while before it happens. If they think this will stop him they’re dumb - at this point it’s clear nothing will stop him and I wouldn’t want to be in her position if he becomes the Chief Executive again. Crimes have been committed.
With that message, he completely undermined the argument his lawyers were making that he would be irreparably harmed by posting the bond due to him having to sell assets at “fire sale” prices. I would expect his appeal to have the bond reduced or stayed to be denied. Not having the money to campaign for president would not be considered “irreparable harm” by the court.

I don’t think there will be elections because, even with cheating, they know DJT would win so they will create such widespread chaos, the elections will not happen. They might even activate the Sleeper Cells who have come up from the south.

That sounded suspiciously dumb to me when they initially said it. But the lawyers and Trump can’t be dumb (can they?), so there are likely strategies that are not apparent.
Every business requires cash to exist and operate. The larger the business, the more cash and cash equivalent that it must have.
Trump is responding to a number of messages by lefties meant to provoke him in which they say he doesn’t have cash-he shouldn’t have taken the bait

I would think that between him & his lawyers, they would be able to come up with the best answer to accomplish his purpose & at the same time do the most damage to the crooked judicial system in that state.
