Austin, Texas residents are expressing outrage over police staffing shortages and longer 911-call response times in the aftermath of the city council's vote to defund the department in 2020.
In February, a section of the city was notably left without a single police officer for a few hours on a Saturday due to the ongoing shortages.
Austin Police Association President Michael Bullock, who called attention to the vacancy on X, told Fox News Digital that a steady decline in public safety has put the city on the "brink of disaster."

Just think instead of the garden variety criminals like robbers, drug dealers, etc., what if a group of terrorists came across the open border in Texas and settled on Austin, TX as a target, no police response and the situation would become quite ugly
The solution is SO simple. Just cut the police budget another 50%. Then they will have true Dem Utopia.

Meanwhile, defunding police, and supporting terrorist organizations, seems to be working well for them.
Minneapolis is following the Chicago model. Austin is closely following Minneapolis. It’s just a matter of time.
People in Austin are too self-righteous politically to figure thing out. They probably just say all their crime is exaggerated by the right.
