Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' fight to remain on the prosecution in former President Donald Trump's Georgia election interference case is over.
After the end of closing arguments, Judge Scott McAfee, who is presiding over the case, said he would make a decision on disqualifying her within the next two weeks. Trump's attorneys told the judge they had multiple new witness testimonies that had just come to light that morning, but McAfee refused to admit them because the defense hadn't had a chance to examine the evidence.
McAfee signaled to Trump's attorneys that he may not need any more evidence to make his decision on whether or not to disqualify Willis from the case. Trump and his co-defendants in the Fulton County case have pushed to have the district attorney and her office removed from the prosecution over misconduct allegations stemming from her romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade.
"I'd like to hear more of how some of the legal arguments apply to what has already been presented, and it may already be possible for me to make a decision without those needing to be material to that decision," McAfee said.
Willis and Wade's relationship was first revealed in a January court filing from co-defendant Michael Roman's attorney Ashleigh Merchant, who argued that their relationship was a conflict of interest that should lead to Willis' removal from the case and for the charges against her client to be dropped. Willis and Wade have maintained that their relationship did not begin until after Wade's appointment to the case.

The big problem the leftists in places like Chicago, NYC, Fulton County, etc. are starting feel is their block voting constituencies are the primary victims of the progressive policies they have implemented. In other words, the “victim class” are starting to see the reason they are victims is their choice of leadership, which they can change through the vote.
God works in mysterious way.

“I hope I am wrong. But the additional evidence needs to be heard...an appeal court might send it back to hear that evidence.”

All the evidence available, plus an investigation by the Attorney General is warranted, in order to determine if the DA has committed the crime of perjury. This case is way more serious now than just knowing when the affair started. This woman may need to go to prison, and that would require more than just a preponderance of evidence. An Attorney General investigation would have the power and ability of law enforcement to use forensic tools to investigate. Much more power to haul people in and interrogate than what a defense lawyer can do.
Also, defense attorneys whose clients are now sitting in a prison cell might just want to know how honest this DA is. Just for the sake of being absolutely certain...rather than some minimum 49-51 tilt of the scales needed to find an “appearance” of impropriety this hearing requires.
She and that failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate, Stacey Abrams, will go out on a barnstorming roadshow together, bowing to burn everything they see down to the ground, Sherman-style, in a bicoastal March to the Sea.
The judge has no opponent for his election bid and there is only a short time (~2 weeks) for someone to put their name in. Commentators have said that once the window to run against the judge has closed he will not be under pressure to cave on Fani to protect his May election.

“I’d like to hear more of how some of the legal arguments apply to what has already been presented, and it may already be possible for me to make a decision without those needing to be material to that decision,” McAfee said.”
Going by that statement from the judge, I agree with you.
I think the judge would do everything he could to dismiss - except it’s just too obvious. If he doesn’t disqualify her then there’s ZERO justice system working and everyone will know it. He *has* to - it’d also, potentially, ruin any integrity he has as a judge.
These people flaunted the conflict of interest. Clearly there was a ‘relationship’ before she hired him. Clearly, on the State dime, they went places together. That alone should have been disclosed for the mere ‘appearance of impropriety’. Except the opposite was done. She claims she paid him back with cash, from under the bed - no accounting.
The judge would have to be an idiot to not see the ‘appearance of impropriety’ which is all that is required.
A ruling to disqualify will take longer and be more in-depth and well-cited so as to survive appeal and the scrutiny of the left-wing media. The judge knows every person is going to be looking for any error so it will be very well-written and researched."
You are too kind to the boobirds and the Eeyores.
Way too kind.
As we noted watching the trial yesterday, Judge McAfee said out loud, "We know there was a relationship, we know there was an exchange of money, the only matter is the balance of the ledger."
Really odd that Abbate did not try to rehabilitate some of the honey pot testimony, because that is where the Judge is going to go with his decision, ie, she used government funds to pay for a gigilo, and also to spread that government money around even further as a slush fund to conduct lawfare against President Trump.
The boobirds lamely imagine Fani has some sort of Fulton County wigwhomping voodoo against Judge McAfee, when the reality is, Kemp has far more power. To demonstrate:
"Judge McAfee won't retain Fani, and here's why: if he does, then Kemp is forced to refer Fani to the Prosecuting Attorneys Statewide Qualifications Commission, which was specifically created by KEMP to STOP prosecutions that are "politically motivated"!McAfee KNOWS that this trial has revealed that Fani's prosecution was politically motivated, and that she did it despite knowing her gigolo patronage gravy train subterfuge would eventually be revealed.
So, McAfee will actually be sparing Fani from further disgrace and keeping Kemp out of it. Otherwise, Kemp would have to get involved, and Trump knows this.
Note that the problem here is that once he removes Fani, you could easily see someone worse step into her role and make a big speech about 'taking down Trump', even though they would mostly be back to Step One, and with all of the extraneous lawfare evidence exposed."
She’s an alcoholic?
she’s already been turned into the bar....so we keep going...and within 2 weeks...she loses her license amd they file charges against her....perjury is a crime....
