Former President Donald Trump filed a notice of appeal Monday in the matter of the New York civil judgment finding him liable for fraudulently inflating his net worth on years of financial statements.
The judgement curtailed his ability – and that of the Trump Organization – to do business in New York or apply for loans from financial institutions registered with the state.
Trump asked an intermediate-level state appellate court to overturn Justice Arthur Engoron’s Feb. 16 ruling in a civil fraud lawsuit brought in 2022 by New York Attorney General Letitia James, Reuters reports.
Trump’s post-judgment interest will continue to accrue at $111,984 each day until it is paid, according to the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James, who brought the case against Trump and his company, CBS News notes.

So do I. I’m hoping Donald wins and the DA loses.
The prosecutor and judge are criminals.
Why do the New Yorkers allow all this crap in their name
“Why do the New Yorkers allow all this crap in their name?”
Allow it? They voted overwhelmingly for it.

if the lower appeals court rules against Trump he can then take it to the Supreme Court on appeal and I think he will win there based on the 8th an 14 amendments... let alone it is the court system personal attack on Trump and election interference...
The eighth amendment to the constitution forbids excessive fines and forfeitures in civil cases. That Judge should be removed from the bench for his biased partisan decisions, he was certainly in bed with the prosecution.
It’s the state attorney general, not some cheesy DA
THOSE who have bitched in the past that Trump had years where he didn’t pay any income taxes are in for a shock-—ANYTHING that Trump has paid for legal fees in 2023 & 2024 should be deductible.
First, it has to wind its way through the New York state judiciary. That means appeal courts and ultimately the New York State supreme Court. If he gets stuffed at all these venues then his last appeal is to go to the supreme Court for the unconstitutionality of the gines and process. That’s a long ways off and he has to pay money in the form of extortion essentially to be able to appeal this process. It’s really a crappy outcome for him no matter what
GOOD
It is $455 mil now- one month of interest evidently adds up to $100 mil
Hope Trumo wins otherwise the interest will wipe him out
This wretched woman ran on using the office to go after one American Citizen and the majority of the worthless voters elected her. F NY, i hope the state goes bankrupt
“The eighth amendment to the constitution forbids excessive fines and forfeitures in civil cases”
It is a disgorgement of allegedly ill-gotten gains.
I suggest we apply the disgorgement principle to the mainly fraudulent ‘asylum seekers’:
ASYLUM APPLICATION
....
DISGORGEMENT CLAUSE
I agree that if my asylum application is fraudulent, that I and all beneficiaries of it related to me by blood, marriage or civil union will have to disgorge all related benefits from the application, including those pertaining to US citizenship, US residency rights & privileges, US employment rights & privileges, US licenses, governmental financial aid, earned and unearned income, and other gains lawful or otherwise as a result of this application.
SOME OTHER POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES for ASYLUM FRAUD
If I fail to depart within 30 days of US valid government request, I will be forever barred from US territory. Any action I take including a legal appeal I make to avoid departure will be at my risk.
I understand also that I may also be imprisoned for fraud, perjury and false utterance for such time as US law allows.
i don’t see the basis for fining $1 much less $355+ million. this is all personal and political animosity with no basis in accepted law
