Around 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been recorded as killed by Russia's war, President Volodymyr Zelensky said at the "Ukraine. Year 2024" forum in Kyiv on Feb. 25.
"Each person is a very big loss for us. 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers died in this war," the president said. "It is very painful for us."
The announcement is the first time Zelensky has publicly stated a figure on the death toll of Ukrainian soldiers since the start of the full-scale invasion. The Ukrainian government has kept a tight lid on casualty numbers during the war.
Zelensky did not clarify if the number covers the entire 10 years of Russian aggression against Ukraine or is just for the last two years of the full-scale invasion. The number is also those that have been officially accounted for as killed in the war. The actual figure is likely to be higher.
He also said that 180,000 Russian soldiers have been killed in the war, and that along with the wounded, Russia has suffered 500,000 casualties.
"I won't say how many wounded (Ukrainians) there are because Russia will know how many people have left the battlefield."
Independent Russian media outlets Meduza and Mediazona reported in a joint study on Feb. 24 that 83,000 Russian soldiers had been killed in Russia's war.

Oh I think the Ukies have a good idea of Russian losses. Western satellite and other Intel sources likely have excellent tabs on Russian losses. Likely two years of war have cost each side more KIA than ten years of Nam cost the US.

And we’ll all still be here 1 year from now, as the war goes into Year 4, with minimal changes on the battlefield
but, a whole lot more Russian warships will be sunk by then ... LOL
see ya next year

31,000 sounds far too low. But I will say the suggestion it has been a million sounds quite a bit high. 250,000 sounds more realistic and still a staggering figure.

I should have also added that there may be numerous injured troops, individuals who are no longer able to fight in the war on both sides. *That* number may be pretty large.

Never going to happen. Their beloved grifting, gay midget leader called for foreign volunteers and NOT ONE OF the loudmouth zeepers has volunteered and NEVER will sign up. It's so much easier sitting in the basement 24/7 and play make-believe keyboard worrior.

Listen carefully... Never-Trumpers never seem to get this but a massive and overdue sea change in politics is about to occur. President Trump is going to win by so much and bring so many loyal followers with him that the Democrats are not going to be able to cheat their way out of it. When the toilet is flushed what little is left of the most corrupt Democrat money laundering machine in history is going to swirl down the drain. And people such as yourself who buy into every scrap of NeoCon propaganda are going to revealed as the fools that they are.

It’s amazing how FR, an erstwhile patriotic, pro-Chrisitian forum has been taken over by pro-Russian American bots who want to stop building a wall on the Ukraine's border in favor of spending the 60 billion on America's borderfixed it

All Z-Man had to do was abide by the Minsk Accords he signed off on and there would have been no war.

All Russia had to do was keep its word and respect Ukraine's borders, by honoring peace agreements it had already freely signed, and there would be no war
But Russia doesn't keep its word, and doesn't honor treaties it has freely signed
and, lies all the time
That's why nobody trusts Russia!

They keep playing politics by claiming the republicans are causing them to lose the war. They know the $61 billion will do absolutely nothing to change the war. Ukraine needs young men and 155mm artillery rounds. America doubled it's monthly production of 155mm ammo to 24,000 per month. That covers the Ukrainian output of 6,000 per day for 5 days. The fighting age men left the country before the war and won't be coming back. The $61 billion will go to keep the corrupt Ukrainian state from collapsing. It will pay pensions and government employee paychecks. A big chunk will also go into the pockets of corrupt clowns like Zelensky who will show up in a European country living in a multi million dollar villa, thanks to US tax payers.

More like 310,000 if not many more. There’s aa reason the average age of a Ukrainian soldier is in his 40’s.

There are plenty of independent indicators - such as the number of casualties requiring prosthetics - that indicates Z is lying up the wazoo.
