Yes, intelligent minds would think so… but who knows. I remember years ago when an American drone (programmed to autonomously “return to base” if communications were interrupter) landed in Iran instead of returning to its base. I suspect the Iranians some how hacked into and commandeered it. They got a lot of our technology from that also.

Two things are likely:
1. The sub malfunctioned.
