Britain’s decline over the past 25 years has been staggeringly rapid. Almost everything is getting worse, and almost nothing is getting better. Our public and private institutions are broken, presided over by an incompetent, selfish and narcissistic ruling class. Living standards, when adjusted properly for living and property costs, are declining.
Even the simplest things don’t work any longer. Queuing, scarcity and congestion are rife, our infrastructure is embarrassingly poor, and the honest and hardworking face endless bureaucratic battles to obtain what they are due. Free riding, crime, disorder, fraud, littering and generalised rule-bending are rife, and all too often tolerated by apathetic citizens and an indifferent state. Britain’s residual virtues, our individualism, independence of mind, tolerance and openness, uniquely appealing features of our national character, are fading.
Like a frog in boiling water, few saw the full scale of the decline coming until it was too late, and those who did were ridiculed by the bien-pensant. Yet even in 2024, when millions now realise that Britain is on the wrong track, there is no hope of meaningful improvement. The Tories have been abysmal, but Labour will be even worse: Keir Starmer will double down on the social-democratic and culturally nihilistic policies tested to destruction by the Conservatives.

Excellent post after reading my mind.
When I went to Australia, I was struck by the many English and Irish people who lived and worked there as part-timers or very recent arrivals. It makes sense, considering the limited opportunities back home.
Apparently they didn’t list atheism as a religion in that Pew survey.
The destruction of Europe and the US are not accidental. I believe this was engineered by the EU, WEF, U.N. and other elites. They encouraged mass immigration of culturally incompatible and hostile Muslims resulting in chaos and conflict. Even after it became obvious that the mass immigration resulted in huge increases in rape, murder, knife attacks, no go zones, etc. in every country where this was enacted, these policies continued to be adopted. WHY? Certainly not for any good purpose.
Australia is practically a totalitarian authoritarian hell hole. Why anyone would want to go there is beyond me. Of course, one has to consider what the UK has become, eh.

Ravens ceased flying there decades ago and some had to be imported to keep them flying.

Went to Bath for 6 days and then London for 3 or 4 days in 2015 or so. Christmas time in Bath was beautiful. Since it was 80% business trip, we stayed in very nice places. It was a good time. London agai, great place to stay and convenient. Literally walk out the hotel and see parlement Big Ben. London was nice to see but not nice like Bath.

Visited for first —and last— time last year. The socialism mixed with impressive stratification of the classes was too much. NO THANKS. Unfortunately, this is what our betters have in mind for use.
No western country can ever call itself a western country if they have a head of government named “Sunak.” The fact that the “right wing” party did so is ridiculous.

Notice that the same things are happening in every Western country. What are the odds of that? Every govt doing the same OBVIOUSLY stupid things. It’s not by chance. It’s a plan.
