The left-leaning billionaire George Soros will be purchasing the second-largest radio company in America, according to court filings and sources close to the situation.
The Soros Fund Management has bought up $400 million of debt in Audacy, which owns over 220 radio stations across the country.
According to a Republican insider that spoke to the New York Post, he believes it was possible Soros was buying the stake to help influence public opinion for the months prior to the 2024 presidential election.

I AM SHOCKED...THIS IS THE DUMBEST THIS NAZI HAS EVER DONE.
NOBODY LISTENS TO THE REDIO ANYMORE, PUTZ.
Air America v2.0
As much as I liked Reagan, I agree with you on this, it’s been a disaster.
And everyone over 50 already has their minds made up.
Exactly. Myself, I rarely even turn on the radio in my car anymore.
Too late.
It is strange when the Libs keep pushing for the Fairness Doctrine when they own it all already. It’s almost like they want a Marxist State....
They have drooled over a Marxist eventuality for decades.
McGovern in 1972 was all ready to go...
What truly angers me, is that our side allowed them to get
this far along without saying, “No more!”
Our leaders in our party are so disgusting.
The regional talk show I listen to is a strong performer, although many of the listeners are via streaming, not broadcast.
I listen to Houston’s Michael Berry, who is syndicated in a lot of markets around the U.S.
He does both streaming and broadcast, but I think the streaming audience is bigger.
>> Yep, this is an all out push to finally kill America as it was and bring in a totalitarian rule.
SOAP BOX
Audacy, formerly Entercom, and Radio.com before that. I think that is the company Howie Carr is always raging against and gloating when their stock price goes down and down.
They filed for bankruptcy last month. They have a lot of stations in big cities. And hey, this is all just in time for the 2024 elections
I listen to WMAL in DC every day, but unless I’m in my car or sometimes in the garage or yard, I use the streaming apps.
Perhaps, but as people leave that station as a consumer...the value of the station plummets in a matter of six months. Profitability-wise...as they try to fill the hours with non-value ‘talkers’....you end up dismissing folks left and right because you don’t make the cash flow.
End of 2025, I’ll predict a mass breaking up of the stations and some will sell for 50-percent of their 2024 value.
Soros and Co. should have disappeared decades ago. Ignorance and complacency is destroying this country. I’ve sent hand written and typed letters to Senators and Congressmen asking them to look into matters like these. Result: boilerplate BS response. They live in a bubble and are clueless as to what’s happening outside the DC beltway.
I stopped watching cable tv 3 years ago, so when I find out which stations they are ,I will stop listening to them. Boycott them and let him burn up more of that dirty money. He needed thrown out of this country yesterday!
I quit listening to radio when Rush died. Don’t like his replacement (name-dropper Erick), nor the MSM drive time parrots OR that backyard gossip/nonsense show with Mark Arum who replaced Eric Von Haessler (liked that show).
Same here. Commercial free Pandora 1 is what I’ve been listening to for at least a decade now. In my current vehicle, with over 100k miles on it, I purchased new, I have turned on the radio less than five times.
I sure miss Rush. For several years I listened to Fox News Channel on SiriusXM. When Fox fired Tucker Carlson I finally cut that cord and my go-to on SiriusXM is now Road Dog Trucking (Channel 146).
Oh, and also the Patriot Channel (125) except when Hannity is on.
