The Senate voted early Tuesday morning to pass a $95 billion emergency defense spending bill, including $60 billion for Ukraine, after an all-night filibuster by conservative opponents finally ran out of steam shortly after 5 a.m. The 70-29 vote capped nearly a week of floor debate and four months of wrangling over President Biden’s request to fund the war in Ukraine, which he submitted to Congress in October

Why should they care? They’ve got the big money donors behind them. So they will win the next election. And the next, and the next.
I read somewhere that there was more turnover in the USSR’s Supreme Soviet than there is in the US Congress. Those are two very different organizations, to be sure. But it’s still an interesting comparison.
Every couple of days I’m reminded why I stopped voting in congressional elections.
