The Left would never allow it. It's got too much of that "God" stuff in it. If we were message savvy, every time the left brings up slavery we would point out the culture improvements of the First and Second Great Awakening. That includes abolition.

If you didn’t look at Post (someone I had never heard of before) while he was singing, I tend to agree. Reba tried to add too many extra ‘flourishes’ - I like the National Anthem straight up, no fancy stuff added.

Decades ago, there was a year that we talked about the singing of the national anthem for weeks more than we talked about the super bowl itself.
Whitney Houston gave me chills singing it. But that was when even the left allowed a little bit of patriotism.
